Today's school picture day. After lunch is when they are taking pictures. I hurried to lunch and sat down at the table where I had sat with Cole the day before. I brought my own lunch that consisted of a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich, potato chips, a strawberry drink, and a lemon cupcake that I'd made myself. Cole smiled when he walked up.
"Hi."
"Hello Salena."
"What are you eating?"
"Erm,I forgot my lunch, and I forgot to bring money too..."
"Oh! You can have my cupcake!"
"Ok if you want..."
He picked it up and shoved it into his mouth. I watched in surprise. He finished licking his lips.'
"Mmm, that tasted good."
"Thanks."
I turned back to my lunch and ate my sandwich. I had that creepy feeling that someone was watching me. Turning around I saw Cole staring at me.
"Uh...Hello? Cole?"
"Uh...Hi, just little spaced out."
"Do you want my chips?"
"Yeah, I'm hungry."
He ate the chips quickly, as he finished that the bell rang and we were all ushered to the gym to get pictures.
I was first in line with a girl with a black pony tail.
"Hi!"
"Hi I'm Nya." The girl said.
"I'm Salena."
"Oh, you're the girl that Cole's hooked up on."
"W-what?"
"You can't tell!? He likes you!"
"O-oh..."
"Wanna be friends?"
"Yeah, It'll help me."
I got my picture taken in about 3 minutes and then I sat down on one of the benches. Cole walked up 2 minutes after.
"How was it?"
"Good."
"Ok.."
"Do you have to go home early again?"
'Yeah."
"Aw man."
"What?"
"Uh, nothing."
"Ok."
I walked toward my car and got in heading for home. What was wrong with me?
"I don't like him!" I told myself
But I lied to myself.
