As she stared at the face-- or at least, the part of his face that was visible-- in front of her, the first thing in Alcie's mind was:
...Holy shit.
Then, her mind fell into a discombobulated mess of questions and confusion.
Kakashi?
What the hell...? I'm in the Naruto world?!
There's no way...right?
Still, she'd already confirmed way before her meeting with Kakashi that she was living in reality, what with the pain she'd felt from her sore legs and feet. The addition of the cold touch of a kunai against her neck and the rush of adrenaline as she was restrained by Kakashi provided some extra indication.
There's also this goddamn forest that's in every Naruto fanfic I've read... Alcie sighed tiredly.
Who knew returning to an old interest like reading fanfics would bring her into this situation?
Kakashi returned his kunai to his weapons' pouch after making sure she was no threat. Alcie, on the other hand, continued massaging the reddened arm he'd gripped.
"It looks like you aren't a shinobi," Kakashi crossed his arms. Alcie turned towards him, her head tilted down, but her eyes trained on his face. Meanwhile, his visible eye traveled down to look at her feet, "Nor do you have any weapons or items on you..."
Alcie was struck with embarrassment once she took notice of his scrutiny. She shifted her feet, while her left hand softly scratched her right forearm in a nervous habit. She was wearing a black, boxy t-shirt and her light-blue pajama pants with a faded cat-themed pattern. There was an old soy sauce stain on an area at her lap.
"You're dressed for home," Kakashi observed, a hint of curiosity in his tone. "Are you from Konoha?"
"Well...no," unconfident in her ability to lie, Alcie simply spoke with honesty. "Like I said earlier... I have no idea why I'm here. The last thing I remember was eating with my sister, and then suddenly I was in the middle of this forest..."
"That's a strange story," Kakashi stared at her as if he were searching for any faults. "Which village are you from, then?"
"I...I'm not from any village here..." Alcie gulped nervously, not sure if telling him the whole story would be a good idea. "I, um, don't really know how to explain it..."
Alcie looked up at the sky, anxiously observing as the sky reddened, nearing sunset. Kakashi noticed this, and let out a sigh.
"My team and I are returning to Konoha from a mission," he informed. Alcie didn't understand why he was telling her such information, until he continued speaking, "Do you want to come with us?"
"Re...Really?"
If it's his team... It must be Team 7! Alcie couldn't lie to herself about the underlying excitement she felt at the possibility of meeting them.
"You don't have anything to defend yourself with," he pointed out to explain why he was offering her help. "You don't even have any shoes on."
"But...what happens after I'm brought to Konoha...?" Alcie questioned, concerned about what they might do to an unknown stranger with a vague background entering the village.
"You'll no doubt undergo an interrogation," was Kakashi's answer.
Alcie bit her lip as she mused. An interrogation...they won't torture me or anything, right? Alcie felt herself go light-headed with worry.
