third person's (omniscient) pov

kageyama widened his eyes as pink seared through his cheeks. he can't believe what he heard but he couldn't deny it at the same time. he indeed was, trying to make a move on hinata. but is it really that obvious..? in all seriousness, his sister's comment made him really flustered.

"sure, i could stay over! if you're really okay with it." hinata said with a bright smile, hiding his true emotions. what miwa said made the tangerine really startled and flustered at the same time. a move? kageyama made a move on... me?

hinata wasn't sure if he had interpreted it the wrong way, but who cares.

"of course." kageyama replied as he stood up. 

all of a sudden, he grabbed hinata's wrist and leads him to his room, apparently very done with miwa's teasing. hinata let out a small gasp from the painful grasp, blood rushing to his cheeks because of the skin contact. kageyama slammed the door behind him, leaving the annoyed expression on his face.

"ow ow ow! what was that fo-!"

hinata's eyes scanned across kageyama's room, surprised by how normal it is. it's not interesting at all, he could tell. 

"your room is so plain kageyama-kun. you should at least decorate it for your birthday!"

"shut up! i am not an naïve 5-year-old."

"are you saying i'm an naïve 5-year-old..?"

"n-no..! that's not what i meant..."

once they've showered and cleaned up individually, they both prepared for bed. 

since this sleepover wasn't planned beforehand, hinata had to use kageyama's clothes that didn't fit him quite well. plus, there wasn't a spare futon as kageyama didn't really had any friends that stay over at his place, only one that is for miwa when she visits.

"c'mon! you can let hinata sleep with you right? your bed isn't even that cramped!" miwa spat as she pouted and crossed her arms. kageyama couldn't deal with any more bullshit today, so he didn't argue back. a part of him already wanted to sleep together with hinata, so this is a win-win situation. 

"okay, i guess. i'm too tired to argue anyway." 

"i'm fine with it too! kageyama smells nice." hinata's voice popped up.

"what-"

the pair got into bed, pulling up the covers. since there weren't that much room, they sat close to each other. 

it was late and quiet in the night. no one started a conversation whatsoever, but the two kind of like it that way. the comfortable silence that they were in, in contrast of the day full of noise. it brings out the faint, harmonized thumps of their heartbeats and the constant, soft breaths coming out from their noses.

"hey, kageyama." hinata suddenly said.

the raven hummed in reply.

"can i lean on your shoulder for a bit...?"

kageyama glanced over to hinata who was struggling to fall asleep. he stayed silent for a moment before he replied.

"s-sure..."

hinata shuffled closer to kageyama who was sitting up. he looked up into his eyes for reassurance and the other nodded.

slowly, he leaned onto kageyama's shoulder, breathing in wafts of his scent that he had always liked. he closed his eyes and whispered,

"good night, tobio..."

there, he drifted off into sleep. kageyama wrapped his arm around his waist to secure him in his position, not letting him go. hinata's hair tickled his chin and he kind of liked it. he smiled, and put his face into his hair, feeling the warmth spread through his body. lean on me, hinata.

"good night, shoyo..."
