Chapter Five

Caoimhe

I kept climbing until I reached the platform my friend Sadie, her brother and I built during the Christmas holidays. I met her while I lived in London and but I just met her brother during the holidays. Her brother lived with her dad while she lived in London with her grandparents. Anyway I met up with Sadie during the summer when I went to America and my uncle said they could come stay with us whenever they want.

Once I reached the platform I sat down to catch my breath not caring that the wood was damp.

They're looking for me. They'll never look up here. But Pan was down there at the bottom of the tree, she was lying down waiting for me to come back. She was used to it by now. Next time Sadie and Carter were over we're going to make a pulley to get her up. I missed them. They were some of the few people I liked and trusted completely. It was a pity they lived in New York.

I notice a flash of silver. "I can see you Artemis" I whisper to the kitten on the branch above me. Artemis is Apollo's sister. The reason Apollo was inside was that he had broken his paw hunting. They lived up to there namesakes, not a day goes by without a dead something outside the back door. Today it was a shrew.

Oh no, they've spotted Pan they'll figure out that I'm up here soon. I climb out on the branch thats closest to the other tree and jump. I know what your thinking she's mad, it's not safe and that's Rue's thing. But I've been doing this for years and considering The Hunger Games is set in the future, if anything she copied it off me.

Where was she? We found Pan lying peacefully at the bottom of a tree with Caoimhe nowhere to be seen. Annabeth tapped me on the shoulder and pointed up. I saw the branches rustling. "Yes" Annabeth rolled her eyes, "the branches are moving but there's no wind". Slowly it dawned on me."You think she's up there". Annabeth nodded. "Can you go get Hazel, she's the lightest" "Sure just keep an eye on the trees", I replied,      "and don't go after her by yourself, I don't want Percy getting any more angry at Caoimhe. I have a feeling she doesn't like him and we need to gain her trust.
