Masquerade

(1) "Theme?"

"Good morning Ms Thomas." Bucky Barnes said as he came through the door. 

"Good morning Mr Barnes. The conference room is all set up for your morning meeting. Here is are your messages from over the weekend. And these came this morning for Mr Rogers and his wife Peggy. I haven't been able to get downstairs to give the package to them." She said 

Bucky took the envelope and his messages. "Scripts. I'll get them to them when we have our meeting." He said as he laid them on his desk. 

"Okay. And your dad also called this morning just as you were coming down the hall. He is on line 1." She said 

Bucky took off his dress coat. "Thank you Ms Thomas. Make sure the coffee stays fresh and hot till the meeting begins." He said 

"Yes sir." She said as she walked out of his office back into hers. 

An hour later the department heads were in the conference room. Bucky's oldest brother by a year Brandon joined them. 

"Alright..so we have added new talent to our roster. I know some of you have been questioning if we should close up shop. We have been at this for 9 years and we haven't exactly been turning the heads of some of the big network executives. But we will..we have a whole hell of a lot of talented actors/actresses dancers singers and models. We just have to keep plugging them where we can. By the way Steve Peggy these are for your some of your clients." Bucky said as he handed them the package of scripts. 

Nine years ago Bucky Steve and Sam opened up their own talent agency BRW Entertainment Group. He also co owns a club chain with his brother Brandon he runs both out of the same office space. The talent agency does have more of a British following thanks to Peggy. 

At the end of the table was Bucky's assistant Allianna Thomas making notes about the meeting. 

"What's next on the agenda Ms Thomas?" Bucky said 

She looked back in the notes of the points he wanted to cover. 

"The breast cancer charity ball you and Mr Brandon Barnes throw." She said 

"Right. A charity that me and Brandon hold dearly." Bucky said 

"Correct. So I was thinking second weekend in October. I checked around that weekend is free. So we won't have any other competitors." Brandon said 

"Thank you Brandon. That weekend seems great." Bucky said as he pulled up the calendar. 

"Theme?" Allianna said 

"She's right. You two always pick a theme." Natasha said 

"This year I want to do something special. Mom's favorite movie was phantom of the opera so I think we should do a Masquerade ball." Bucky said 

"I love that." Wanda said as she made her notes. 

"We can do that. Mom would love it!." Brandon said 

"And I'm thinking of not hosting it at the club I think in order to suit the theme we need something with a grand stair case. Lots of gold and black.." Bucky said 

"But we always host it.." Brandon started to say. 

"The museum or city hall? Those two places have big stair cases." Allianna said 

"City hall has the golden look. Let's go with city hall get with the event planner Ms Thomas. You always help Lois do a great job. Just remember it's black tie masks and everyone that works in this building is required to be there. Meeting is adjourned." He said 

Brandon followed his brother into his office. 

"What the hell was that?" Brandon said 

"What?" Bucky said as he sat down. 

"She is your assistant not someone with actual job title who brings you money." Brandon said

"What it is wrong?" Bucky said 

"She shouldn't be allowed to have a say like that. Look little brother if you want to make google eyes at your assistant and make her feel important that's on you. But this ball is our thing our way of honoring mom she shouldn't get to have a say in it considering she's never met mom." Brandon said 

"First off I wasn't making eyes at Ms Thomas. And she is who helps me run this place so yes she gets to be included in the meetings she gets to have a opinion." Bucky said 

"Mr Barnes." They both heard 

"What?" They both said

Allianna stepped out from behind Brandon. "Gabby is here Mr Barnes." She said 

"Thank you. Hold all my calls I'm taking my girl out for lunch before she has to go to Paris." Bucky said as he pulled his coat on. 

"Yes sir." She said in a low tone as she followed him out. 

Two hours went by before Bucky returned to the office. She followed him inside with her iPad. 

"Here Lois sent me a sample of the invitations for the ball. I tried to get Brandon to approve but he told me that I was to ask you. Is he mad at me? I didn't mean to over step.." she said 

Bucky looked at the sample. "I love it. And no you didn't over step you simply gave a suggestion. My brother can be a ass sometimes." He said 

"Okay I'll let her know." She said as she went back to her desk.
