We are at an area called the 'slayground'.

There is a sign above the bench that Luz and Eda sit on, and I stand next to them. It says 'All bloodthirsty monsters must be leashed'. Luz is busy panicking about King.

Luz: What if he gets hurt? What if the kids are mean to him?

She gasps.

Luz: My parental instincts are freaking out, man.

I ruffle her her.

Y/n: Chill Luz he's fine. Look at him.

I point at King who is climbing up the slide.

Luz: It does look like he's having fun.

We can hear King grunting trying to get up the slide.

Luz: Aw. I wonder what cute little game he's playing.

You move closer to King and overhear his conversation with the other kids.

King: Stand back, cretins.

The other kids stand back and watch him, when he reaches the top he laughs.

King: Yes! Yes! This is a throne worthy of a tyrant. Bow to me you snotty underlings. Bow!

Kids: Okay.

One of the kids, stands on their head and the other one does a yoga pose, King giggles.

King: Yes, appease your master.

Another kid appears behind him.

Snot face kid: This isn't for standing, it's for sliding. You try.

He pushes King down the slide and he rolls down.

King: Whoa, whoa!

He hits the ground with a thud and runs to Eda. You laugh.

King: Eda! That monster took my throne.

Eda: You mean the baby?

King: No, the usurper. I want you to go over there and blow him up. Kaboom!

Snot face kid: Kaboom!

Eda: Yeah, I'm not using Owlbert to blow up a five‐year‐old.

She unscrews Owlbert from the staff.

Eda: He's got better things to do. Like this...

She scratches Owlbert's side and he starts warbling.

Luz: Aw, what a sweetie. How did you get him?

Eda: Get? I made Owlbert from the branch of an ancient tree.

Y/n: Palismans are made from a special wood, which is rare these days. We can obtain them when we graduate from Hexide, along with our staff or if we know where we can find a stash of this special wood.

Eda chuckles.

Eda: You're right kiddo.

She picks up Owlbert and sets him on her shoulder.

Eda: He's my palisman and we're bonded for life. I'd annihilate anyone who'd hurt him.

King: Fine. Don't help. Revenge will taste all the sweeter if they fall by my hand alone.

The kid appears behind him and pushes him over.

Snot face kid: Tag, your it!

King falls face first into the dirt the kid runs away laughing.
