Chapter Four

Haylee Parker

I groaned as I woke up. I sighed and rubbed my eyelids. Grabbing my phone from the coffee table I checked the time. Two forty-five a.m.. It was early. I had a soft snoring and immediately stopped.

Who the hell is in my room?

I waited for a moment as the memories flooded back. Titan. I sighed in relief and craned my neck to see if he was still in bed. Earlier on we argued extensively as to who was going to take the couch. He was pretty determined to sleep on it but so was I. After he changed into some basketball shorts that Elliott left here a couple of days ago, I grabbed my alarm clock and knocked him on the head. Luckily he fell  on the bed. I tucked him in. Boy, was he out cold.

I proceeded  to get off the couch and stretch my limbs. I groaned in satisfaction as I heard my arms, legs and neck crack in all the right places.

After quietly getting a glass of water from downstairs I returned to my room. Giving the couch one last glare I drank the water and stalked to my bed before I could change my mind.

"It's my bed too, besides I'll probably get up before him." I said as I pulled the covers to my chin and kept as much distance as I could from Titan.

I'll probably regret this in the morning.

I switched off my alarm as soon as it went off. I had been awake for a couple of minutes and I waited for the alarm to go off before getting up. Except we had one problem. Titan's arm was draped over my stomach and if I wasn't careful he'd wake up. I admit, the way his arm felt against my stomach was amazing and it ignited my skin everywhere.

I took a deep  breath and lifted his arm slowly as I got out of bed. He groaned deeply and shifted a little. I froze. I counted to five before I continued to get out of bed.

"No...." he groaned again and I swear my heart dropped to my stomach at the sound of his voice. It was six a.m. and classes started at eight. I better get going.

Next thing I knew I had fallen to the floor with a yelp.

"What's going on?" Titan jumped.

Oh shit.

"Uhh...hey there. How you doing?" I said awkwardly as I got up.

He raised a brow at me and rubbed his eyes.

"I'm fine. My head hurts though and it's not from a hangover. I think I hit my head." He mumbled.

I blushed furiously as the guilt crept up my throat.

"Wait, how did I get here? And what are you wearing?" He panicked. "Where are my clothes? Oh my God! Did we-"

"No! No! God no!" I exclaimed. "You got into a fight at Jason's party last night and passed out. Elliott and Stella called and I brought you here." I explained.

He looked relieved.

"Anyways, you better get ready for school and be quiet. My mum doesn't know you're here."  I told him.

An hour later we were both done. I told him to get down through the ladder at my balcony.  He nodded. He was clad in Elliott's dress shirt with some of Elliott's skinny jeans. He looked nice. He was all sober and fresh and I gave him some painkillers for his hangover.

"We'll catch breakfast on our way to school." I told him before I went downstairs.

I walked into the kitchen with a bright smile.

"Morning mother." I greeted. She mirrored my greetings and asked me if I was  joining her for breakfast. I told her I couldn't because I was meeting Stella at the cafe next to school.

"Ok then. Do you need anything?" She asked and grabbed her tablet from the kitchen island. No doubt checking her email. My mother owned a chain of boutiques and she had some big shot customers.

"Uh yeah, I wanted to know if I could borrow the Mercedes. Yesterday I got a little uh...sick...so I kind of ended up heaving in the back seat." I explained hoping she'd believe me.

Her made up face scrunched in disgust.

Yes.

"Take the Mercedes. I'll have one of the workers take your car to the carwash. " she dismissed.

*****

"Get in before anyone sees you."  I told Titan. He beamed at me as he got in.

"Sweet ride. Where did you get it?" He asked in awe.

"Same place you got your belly-button piercing." I teased.

His pink lips formed into a coy smirk.

"Oh, the shop next to the one where you buy your crop tops." He countered.

I felt my cheeks heat up.

"You win this round Matthews." I muttered with a laugh.

"You bet." He replied and turned on the stereo.
