The ticking of the clock, which showed that it was 10 pm right now and the beating of my heart which showed that I was feeling hella nervous were the only voices I could hear, other than the loud footsteps echoing around me.
"I must say, I am impressed. You turned out quite good in these past few years......." I heard him trailed off as he poured himself a cup of coffee.
Did he just compliment me?
Ha! Who am I kidding? There was undoubtedly a double implication on his words.
"I could say the same about you, Dr Singhania." I bit back, sipping my tea while looking at his back.
Hmm... Not bad.
'Indeed.'
I was talking about tea.
'Oh, I know alright. I know everything.'
I mean who says hospital food tastes bad?
It's just that patients are given the food according to their medical condition which is obviously, bland, tasteless and unusual than their daily diet.
But then they are seen to throw a fit because apparently, they don't get to eat delicious cuisines like they usually eat at home, which is strictly restricted due to their health condition.
People just don't seem to understand such a reasonable thing.
Well, I don't know about them but things here are getting a little awkward......
Vivaan took his coffee and sat on the chair near me as I looked at the sandwich, which was still smiling brightly at me. And suddenly I lost my appetite to eat it.
"Don't waste the food." Always Bossy!
Anyways, It wasn't like I was going to Asshole. I am not some kindergarten kid to not understand such basic values. Even Shrishti knows not to disrespect food by wasting it.
My angle..... I miss her so much. I will make sure to call her once the surgery is done.
I looked up to meet his eyes. They were nothing like how they were before. Now they were cold and calm.
Not even an ounce of emotion flickered in those dark malicious brown eyes as I again looked away.
"I know."
Two words.
They were just two simple syllables coming from my mouth. But they unimaginably managed to stir something inside him.
And he cracked.
"You fucking don't know anything!" He bursted. As he banged his fist on the table, making me all of a sudden flinch.
It was with such a force that the whole room was ringing with its loud noise. Even I was terrified for a second.
Wow, that escalated quickly. And here I thought that we were going to be civil......
My bad!
His eyes were like a raging beast whom I have unexpectedly and unknowingly awoken at an unholy hour. Cold chills were miraculously replaced by burning fire as he snapped his piercing gaze towards me. There was anything but calmness in those two pairs of eyes as they were burning holes into my body.
They were warning me, threatening me, intimidating me, burning me yet somehow cooling me at the same time. And most prominently scaring me.
But did I felt anything? No. Nada. I only saw the slight softness in the depths of his dark brown orbs which did nothing but reminded me of........of....... Shrishti.
