"Draw it properly." My soon-to-be mother-in-law ushered to the lady sitting beside me. "The name should be well hidden."

"Yeah, it should take him whole night to figure out where it is." Meenal aunty laughed with some other unknown ladies.

"But mom, the question is, would he be patient enough to find it?" Urvi smirked meaningfully and turn to look at me as it made me blush uncomfortably, full well knowing the meaning behind her not so innocent words.

She laughed at my reaction and cleared her throat. "I mean, we do know him and he sure isn't going to waste his first night in finding some name on his wife's hand."

"I remember when it was my first night, I was so scared of Karan. I was sweating like an athlete who ran a hundred kilometres just in one hour. He was so intimidating I swear." Meenal aunty chuckled softly, rewinding her past memories. And even though I was interested in her talks, this original topic of the first night wasn't what I wanted to hear at my potential Mehendi and Sangeet.

For fuck's sake! It is my bloody Mehendi and Sangeet.

I am sorry but I can't help but curse everything out right now. Especially the one who suggested- no wait, the one who literally imposed this sudden marriage out of nowhere.

Thus, willingly or not, today I had to sit here like a statue and let my hands get filled with henna. Not that I disliked applying Mehendi on my hands, but let's be honest it's been more than a decade I have had the opportunity to colour my hands. Whereas normally my hands would be coloured in red blood. For the good cause of course. I am not a serial killer.

Nevertheless, even if I actually was, there is no doubt that the first person to get slaughtered by my hands would be none other than my beloved groom.

"Mine was showered with gunshots instead of flowers." Urvi scoffed. I don't even want to know what she meant. And it's better if she doesn't explain either. It was evident that she came from an apparently not so stable and friendly environment.

"Well, Vivaan's father had pillows showered over him the whole night by yours truly." They all again laughed.

"Why?" I asked, genuinely interested as my soon going to be mother in law's expressions fell for a second before she smiled slightly. I saw Meenal aunty giving her a weird look.

Was that sympathy and pity visible in her eyes?

I could be mistaken but I am not that naive. I have personally dealt with that look years ago. It was the same how-

"He was being an asshole." Hearing her, my heart sank in relief.

Maybe I am wrong. I am just probably overthinking everything. Precisely Current situation is sure taking a huge toll on me.

"All men are assholes." Jui Di remarked while hugging me sideways, making sure not to ruin my Mehendi. She just arrived.

"How are you?" I asked, glancing at her stomach.

"We both are awesome." She smiled widely.

"And what about jiju?"

"What about him? He is good as well. Probably now drinking and partying with other men in the backyard. I heard the groom and other male species have no entry in the house till the function gets over?" She teased.

"You heard right." Urvi confirmed and I shrugged.

Vivaan can sleep the whole night in the backyard for all I care. Actually, it's for his own betterment. Because if he is going to marry me, then getting too much attached to his bedroom won't benefit him in future at all.
