It's Not Going To Work - Fremione

The Awkward Walk

Hermione didn't mind the walk from the carriages to the doors of Hogwarts it often made the feast that much more enjoyable. Normally on the walks she would walk on her own but Hermione often found herself enjoying her own company but this time she was glad to have her friends walking with her. They had paired off Ron walked beside Harry, Lee beside George which left Fred and her to walk beside each other. Hermione found it quite awkward with Fred's previous comment and tried to walk slightly ahead of him but behind the other four boys it was hard to quicken her pace.
"Are you trying to run from me Mione" Fred asked in a sort of hushed voice so only she could hear
"Why would you think that Freddie?" She replied trying to sound serious
"Just the fact you've stood on the back on Lee's heels about 6 times so far and we are just got off the carriages" he smirked, Hermione slowed down a little so she was walking right beside him. The awkward tension coming back again.
"Did you really mean the comment you made before" Hermione whispered out secretly hoping Fred didn't hear her.
"Of course I did, I think you'd make a fine Weasley" he paused, Hermione blushing to herself "if only Ron came to his senses eh Mione, then you could be a proper Weasley" he finished. Hermione was shocked
"You think I like Ron?" Hermione whispered she honestly didn't know if Fred was playing a game but having your 'crush' tell you that you'd be perfect with someone else gave her an aching in her heart that she had never felt before.
"I mean I always thought you did, youse are the same age and you are never apart" Fred replied. The aching Hermione was feeling was getting worse, Fred honestly thought that Hermione liked Ron and he was practically pushing them together.
"We are best friends, I see him like a brother so no I don't want him to come to his senses, Honestly Freddie maybe you should come to yours" Hermione replied and she walked forward and excused herself past the rest of her friends and finished the walk up to the castle herself, hurt and alone.
"Damn Fred what did you say" asked George
"She asked about what I said earlier, remember the comment I said I was going to make about her being a Weasley well she asked if I meant it and I told her yes and about Ron coming to his senses" Fred replied putting his hand through his hair, he felt like he had messed up but honestly he didn't know how.
"Oh" George stopped causing the rest of the group to stop, he just stood looking at Fred.
"You are the biggest idiot I've ever met" he stated the rest of the group looking confused
"What do you mean" Fred replied confused and slightly annoyed at his twin
"When you realise you'll know, I'm gonna go make sure Hermione is okay" George replied as he ran in the direction Hermione walked off.
Fred stood more confused as ever, he didn't know what he was  to realise or what Hermione meant when she said about him coming to his senses.

George thinks Fred's an idiot clearly knowing something we don't
The all seeing George....do you think he can tell the future?

Anyways this is the last chapter for 2020 so I'm wanting to wish whoever is reading this wherever you are a Happy New Year from the bottom of my Heart I hope 2021 is everything you hoped 2020 would be and I hope this pandemic ends soon
