Zephyr

WACK

I feel the air whoosh right next to me as I quickly regain consciousness. I hear Kai groan, his head dropping with a thud.

"Who are you and what do you want from me?" a soft voice, filled with fear, shouts.

I look up to find a pair of vibrant red eyes staring down at me.

Is she the princess? She has the same red eyes as Queen Hestia from the Fire Kingdom.

I take in her whole image. She has long wavy brown hair that reach past her shoulders, her skin is lightly tanned. She wears a maroon hoodie paired with skinny jeans that seemed too big for her.

I quickly note that she's holding a bat.

Did she seriously hit Kai with that?

I push down the urge to laugh and the need to congratulate her for defeating Kai with a wooden stick.

Stop, Zephyr, a voice in my head hums, Remember she's a human, remember what her kind did...

She hesitates for a moment, once we make eye contact. I take that opportunity to grab the bat with one hand to disarm her. I throw it across the room, creating a hole in the wall.

Oops.

She turns to look at the hole I created, giving me a chance to get closer to her. She turns back around and I find we're a few inches apart.

I stare down at her. I can hear her heart beating rapidly. She swallows hard, her eyes watching mine. Despite her trembles, she puts on a brave face.

"You are our missing princess, princess," I say in a harsh low voice.

"Excuse me, what?" she asks, looking like she couldn't believe the words that came out of my mouth.

Just then, Terran speaks up as he pats off dust and rubble from his pants, "What he means," he pauses to look at me. "Is that you are from our world. You-.

She cuts him off.

"Your world? What do you mean by 'your world'?"

I slowly take a step back, suddenly realizing how close I am to her. Terran, doing the opposite, takes a step forward, hands behind his back.

It surprises me how he became so formal and welcoming. I bring my attention to Kai, who is still lying on the floor, unconscious. I walk over to him to check if he's alright.

"Um," Terran mumbles, "Maybe we should talk more about this once we get you settled into the palace."

"Palace!" the girl screams. "Is this some sort of joke? Because if it is, I don't have time for this today."

"I can assure you that this isn't a joke, you are actually a princess and we have been searching everywhere for you," Terran reasons.

She stares at us blankly. I guess if three guys fell from my ceiling telling me I was some lost princess from another world, I would've been in disbelief as well.
