Chapter 4: Friend or foe?!

Victoria arrived in front of the city hospital with her tires already almost squealing. Hastily she got out and ran inside. In the entrance hall of the hospital, a waiting room was set up, where she immediately saw her friends, Richard and her dad. Hastily she ran to them.

>>How is Louis? << Victoria asked into the round.

Everyone except her dad, looked at the floor.

>>He's still in surgery. It's critical. << Marco Blackbird explained to her.

Shocked, she stood there. Anger rose up inside her. These Carraros brought nothing but trouble. No matter if one had helped her half an hour ago.

Silently she sat down with Selina. More hours passed until the doctor came and declared that Louis was out of danger. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Selina was allowed to visit her dad in the intensive care unit shortly after. Victoria left the hospital with her dad. Louis and Mary were left to wait for Selina, as she would be staying with them for now. Selina's mother had died a few years ago from an incurable disease. Since then, it was just her and Louis.

Victoria hoped that Selina could handle everything. Outside the hospital, her dad stopped.

>>I will go to the warehouse one more time. Please go home and do your homework!<< he asked her while looking into his phone.

Confused, she looked at her dad. Homework? They hadn't gotten any, had they? After all, it was Friday, so the school week only had two days this time, and school had also just started.

But before she could enlighten her dad, he had already gotten into his car and driven away.

Great, now what was she supposed to do for the rest of the day? Tonight Mary and Selina would definitely not come to Solaphina to celebrate, after the events of today. Solaphina was the hottest club in Saphira and they got in for free. Maybe it was because the club was run by the Blacksparrows in the background.

Slowly she walked to her car and got in. Without really having a plan, she drove around. She feverishly thought about what else she could do on a Friday night. But no real idea came to her. As she looked around, she realized that she was no longer in the Upperside. The buildings around her were sprayed with red snakes. Surely this couldn't be true? Had she really gone to the Downside now? Nervously, she looked for a way to turn around. But the fate did not mean it well with her. Suddenly she heard a strange noise at her car. So she pulled over to the right and got out. So she walked around the car and looked for the cause of the noise. But she found nothing. Victoria got back into her car, turned on the ignition. But her car did not start anymore. What was going on now?

Damn! What should she do now? She couldn't call her dad. He would freak out because she was in Carraro territory. Maybe she should call the breakdown service. It was kind of logical, too. She quickly fished her cell phone out of her pocket. It was off. Several times she tried to turn it on. In vain. The battery was dead. Why was the damn battery dead in a situation like this? She looked around, hoping to find a phone booth. And what was? There wasn't even a damn phone booth here. What was she supposed to do now?

First, she sat down in her car and locked the doors. She felt safer that way. After all, you never knew when and where a Carraro might show up here. Victoria leaned her head on the steering wheel and closed her eyes.

She startled when there was a knock on her window pane. Confused, she looked. Oh no, was she never going to get rid of him? Through the window Gabriel grinned broadly at her.

Then she wanted to hear what he had to say. She unlocked the doors and opened her driver's side a little bit.

>>What gives me the honor of finding you on the downside?<< he asked with a grin.
