Franks P.O.V
Gerard took ahold of my hand and dragged me out of the restaurant.
"Where are we going?" I asked, chucking at how eager he was.
"You'll soon find out Frankie" Gerard replied, the left corner of his mouth raised in an attempted smile. We had been waking for around 20 minutes, and Gerard still hadn't left hold of my hand. I kinda liked it actually, it made me feel safe from the rest of the world.
"Are we nearly there Gerard?" I whined, my legs were aching. "Hah, we are literally here now, lazy Frankie".
Gerard lead me through a metal arched gate, painted black and decorated with twinkling fairy lights. The sky had begun to darken by now, so the lights gleamed more than they would in the daylight.Ahead of us was a cobbled path, covered with pretty orange leaves. The trees above us were also draped with sparkling fairy lights, brightening the path that decided our route. Gerard presented a wide grin on his face, he had obviously had many happy memories in this place.
The path ended sometime later, revealing a large, green park. I had never been here before, due to the fact that I was relatively new to this area (and also a very 'indoorsy' kinda person).
"Gerard, this park is really pretty" I gasped, my eyes wandering past the beautiful greenery and laying upon the playground. I looked up at Gerard with a smug grin... he knew exactly what I was thinking. We both ran towards the swings as fast as we could, resulting in me tripping over. Gerard turned back, cackling at the sight of me laying helplessly in the long grass, and carefully scooped me up whist starting to run to the swings. I chuckled as I bobbed up and down in his arms, his long, warm fingers grasping the bottom of my spine.
Both of us sat down on the swings, slowly rocking back and forth. We had gotten into a deep conversation about which Pierce the Veil song was the best. "I'm sorry my dear Frankie, but you are wrong!" Gerard exclaimed, dismissing me with a swift wave of his hand. I burst into fits of laughter, gaining some rather strange looks from some passing teenagers.
I didn't know much about Gerard, and I couldn't think of any questions to ask. Luckily Gerard started off the conversation."So Frankie, how many relationships have you been in before?" Gee asked, a smug smile plastered across his face.
"Just the one... and hah... well you know how that ended" I sighed, running a hand through my hair.
"Oh, sorry about that by the way Frank" he quickly replied, sympathetically patting my knee."How about you Gerard", I chimed in, "How many relationships have you had?"
"Ermmm, 7" he replied thoughtfully, my eyes widening at his answer, gaining a laugh from him.
"Have you ever... ya know .... done the dance with no pants?!" I laughed.
But Gerard didn't laugh. His gaze was fixed straight ahead of him, he seemed very distant and lost in an unpleasant thought.
"I'd rather not talk about it if that's okay" he whispered, looking down at his feet.
"Yeah, of course, sorry Gee" I quietly replied, but Gerard smiled.
"I like that nickname", his smile turning into a wide grin, "Hey, I bet I can swing higher than you"
"Hah, you're on!" I scoffed, starting to swing my legs.Gerard managed to get higher than me, goddamn him!
"Hah! Looks who was right, AGAIN!" He cackled, swinging his feet happily.
"Yeah whatever Gee" I retorted, but ended up laughing along with him.
It was quite dark now, and gangs of teenagers were on the prowl.
"Uh oh... 'youths' " Gerard joked, "c'mon let's go".We quickly walked out of the park the way we came in, trying to avoid a pack of teens surrounding the gates.
I wasn't a fan of the dark, especially out in the open. Gerard seemed to notice me worrying, so wrapped an inviting arm around my shoulders.
"Hey, maybe next time I bring you here we can go tree-climbing" he whispered softly. I nodded my head in agreement. I soon snaked my arm around his waste, pulling him towards me and burying my head in his shoulder in an attempt to comfort myself. Even though I didn't know Gerard particularly well, he always made me feel safe whenever I was around him.I finally arrived at my door, turning around and thanking Gerard for walking me home.
"No problem Frankie, it was my pleasure" he replied, a smile creeping onto his face.
"Hah, I enjoyed it too, your a good hugger by the way", I commented, making a small blush appear on Gerard's cheeks.
I reached into my pockets to retrieve my house key, but my pocket was empty. I hurriedly checked all of my pockets, my eyes wide in shock.
"FFF..Fuck" I sighed, looking up at Gerard, "I've fucking lost my key, either that or I forgot to bring it out."
"Oh... What time does your mom get home" he asked.
"Hmff.. not tonight.. she's probably gone out with another random guy she thinks she's in love with" I replied bitterly.
"Well, I know this may sound weird n' all, seeing as, well cos we haven't know each other for very long, but I was wondering, maybe if you wanted to, but it's okay if you don't, I mean I don't expect you to trust me 100% yet or anything. What was I saying, oh yeah, I just wanted to ask if you wanted to stay round mine tonight, seeing as you're locked out your house?" Gerard babbled, playing with the hem of his T-shirt nervously and looking down in embarrassment.
I laughed at how cute he was acting, i'd never seen him this embarrassed before.
"Yes please, oh, thank you so much Gee, are you sure your mom would be okay with this?""Yeah she's cool with me brining boys back to the house" he grinned, making me blush. Gerard laughed and pulled me into a hug, then removed one arm and starting to walk me in the direction of his house, his right arm tightly grasping my shoulders again.
