A little bit like Cinderella

chapter 6

(Ava'sPOV)

"Henry come on. were gonna be late. You know how the traffic is gonna be like in New York." I yelled up the stairs to my husband. " ok ok hold on. I can't find my watch." he responded. Henry is the head of some sort of scientists and this lab place, and I am his wonderful wife Ava. After he got promoted, we had to be more sophisticated and professional. I hated it at first, but I've gotten used to it over the years. And we still find time to go crazy and have some fun from time to time. At the moment we were in Chicago about to fly to new york for a meeting about who knows what. I don't really pay attention. I just nod and smile

Though were not as happy as we were before. 17 years ago, our daughter Lea was kidnapped. We have tried everything. The police, detectives nor the FBI were able to find her. But we still didn't give up.

We have a routine that whenever we leave to go to a meeting or for whatever other reason we leave Chicago, we always bring a few of the top police men to search the city.

Also we took one of her baby pictures and morphed it to give us an idea what she would look like now. Then we go and put the posters around town and notify all the stores and work places we run into.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts when Henry comes down the stairs and grabs my hand. "Hey. Don't worry. We'll get her back. She has to be somewhere out there. She couldn't of gone to another planet." he says in a soft voice ike he was reading my mind. "Now come on we don't want to be late or well later then we alreaady are. And maybe later we can go shopping for absolutely no reason... like most of the time" " really?! YAY!" I squeal like a little girl.

After a short flight and the most boring conference ever, Henry tells our driver to takes us to the mall. Even though he isn't a big fan of the mall, we always find a way to have fun. Well as much as we can considering the fact that our 2 body guards are more protective then my parents. So about 13 stores and 15 shopping bags later, we finally head over to our hotel exhausted. But we didn't forget to leave postesr of our little girl at every store

The next morning I wake up with a big head ache.

"Henry I don't feel so good. I think i'll stay in bed for the morning and join you at lunch." " Are you sure? I could stay here with you if you want." "I'm sure. Lets meet at the Starbucks at around 12:30 across the street from here, alright?" " Fine. But if you need anything or feel worse, just call me ok." "Don't worry. I'm sure its nothing serious. Now go and find our daughter."

And with that he left me all alone in our room, with nothing to do. So I decided to watch some Disney movies since they always seem to cheer me up, but got bored after the third one. I got up and decided to take a nice hot shower. I got undressed and stepped into the steamy shower, where instantly the hot water made me feel ten times better and more relaxed.

After about 30 min, i jumped out of the shower and dried myself off. i was drying my hair when an idea crossed my mind. Who would want to take Lea?

What if it wasn't just this random person who wanted a ransom or something. What if it was someone who hated us for a reason.

There are lots of people that hate us for multiple reasons. So I quickly went to the little desk in the corner and started making a list of the people who don't really like us. But I couldn't finish it because I knew that some of henry's former work colleagues didn't like us (well mostly him) and I couldn't remember their names.

I ran to the nightstand and dialed Henry's number.

" Henry, I have an idea on how we could trace Lea and get her back. Come back to the hotel as soon as you can."

And with that I hung up. I didn't want to tell him more so he can be in suspense and come back faster. Evil, yes. But for a good cause.

Not even 5 min later, Henry sprints into the room and comes straight toward me. It was surprising for a man who's all brainy and doesn't usually run at all, but is somehow still in shape.

"What is it? Did find anything that might hep us find her?" "Well I was thinking, what if someone that hates us stole Lea for revenge or something. so I started to make a list of all the possible victims but i need your help to finish it. i cant remember the names of your colleagues that don't like. Then we can cross out who we think didn't do it and research info about the others that could have done it. we can also right their possible motive down beside their name and bring this to the police." " Ava that brilliant! we can defiantly do this. this way we can find someone to target and look for. and maybe we can wright who hates us the most at the top and go from there." " ya good idea."

With that said, we spend the next 45 min going through the possible suspects, crossing them out, writing their possible motives and then writing their names on a scale of how much they hate us. At the top of the list was Verida summers.

Before Lea was born, Verida's husband worked with Henry in the lab. They were both competing for the same position. The lab had just discovered this antidote or whatever that could cure this rare disease in Africa. But it wasn't fully finished. They had to do a few more tests to make sure its stable and secure. The thing was that Henry was the one who cracked the case, but Joseph, Verida's husband said he was the one who did it because he knew that this was his chance to get the position. When word got out that he found it, he got the job and became filthy rich.

Henry was furious, so he hired a lawyer, and the two of them prepared a case to sue Joseph . In the end, Henry got the job and found out that Joseph was selling the antidote secretly and illegally. so he got sentenced to jail for like 20 years I think, and they lost everything.

So with all of are info, we headed to the police department in hope that with what we have, we'll be able to find our baby girl and bring her home... so I can finally have a girl to go shopping with and do all that mother daughter things.

Just hold on Lea, we're coming to find you.

Hey Guys! im sooo sry for not updating in so long. i had lots of homework and my computer was broken for a while. im hoping to update at least 2 more times beofre march break is over. i hope this chapter makes up for the long wait.
