It is cold. So cold. And dark. I ran as fast as I could, escaping anything that could have been behind me. I closed my eyes and let my body run where it wanted. Everything was blurry and I needed to get away from all of the pain. I refuse to ever go back.
After half an hour, I found myself sitting in the middle of a small alleyway, holding my knees up to my chest. My eyes were closed as I held myself in a ball on the hard, concrete ground. Until I heard something. I heard light, swift footsteps come to a stop in front of me. I looked up to see a tall, lean figure of a man with a sweet scent swarming him standing over me.
"My, my, what is a girl like you doing here all alone~?"
I couldn't respond. I didn't know what to say. I wasn't expecting anyone to approach me this late, and especially not in this weather.
"It's rude to ignore someone's question, you know~."
I realized I was just staring up at him. "I- I uh- sorry." Should I tell him what is going on? Or run? He seems strong. There's only one reasonable option right now. "I like to go out during nights like this when I need to time think all alone." It was true. I wasn't having positive thoughts, but I was having thoughts and I needed to be alone while feeling the way I did.
"Hmm... that's odd. Did something happen?~"
Shit. How do I lie about this? A plain "no" will be too obvious. "Not necessarily. I'm just not in the best mental state right now."
"Ahhh, I see. So you're sad.~"
Well, he nailed that one. "Now, why did you come over here just to ask me that if you knew the answer?"
"I sensed a distressed aura coming from this alley. It felt very interesting, I just had to investigate it.~"
That's weird. He's interested in my aura? I didn't think that I was that noticeable. Nobody else has been very fond of me that way. What do I say to that? Uhhh... "Oh, sorry. I'll get out of your way now that you investigated." I stood up from my spot and brushed my damp sweatpants from pebbles and dirt. I turned around and before I could look up, I bumped into something firm with an overwhelming cologne scent, and a nice touch of sweetness sneaking from behind it. The butterflies in my stomach took over my entire body as I felt my face burn up hotter than ever. I looked up to see the man smirking down at me. I was left speechless. I didn't even sense him move. I looked back down at the chest my face bumped into. I couldn't process what had just happened. As I was realizing what was going on, I felt a touch on my chin. That soft touch quickly turned to a firm grip, and my face was pulled up to look back at his. Even through the darkness of the night, the first thing I noticed were his golden eyes shining against the moonlight. I took in his sweet scent, and then admired his strong facial features. He had a star and teardrop painted on his cheeks and maintained that smirk on his face. He was gorgeous. I was stunned.
"I never said I finished my investigation.~"
"What else did you want to know?"
"Your name?~"
I don't usually give my name out to strangers, but there's something about him that seems like I can trust him. "Akari. Do you mind me asking for your name, too?" Of course I'm going to ask for his name in return, I'm not leaving empty handed.
"Me? Call me Hisoka.~"
His smirk grew as this seemed to amuse him. He was still holding my face in his hand, forcing me to continue looking at him. I didn't really know what else to say. We were just standing there with our bodies pushing up against each other. "Is there anything else you wanted to know?" I'm not sure why I asked, because there probably isn't anything else this man could possibly want with me.
"Your phone number.~"
This time it wasn't a question. This was a command. He wanted my phone number without any rejection. I had no paper so I wrote it out with my aura in the air, holding it up with my finger. This interested Hisoka more than I intended it to. He removed his hand from my face and pulled out his phone. He copied the number and then looked back at me, analyzing my face.
"Expect a text message from me later, Akari.~♡"
And with that, he turned around and walked off. He had a powerful strut along with confidence in his steps. I think this is the first time I have been genuinely attracted to someone, and I just met him.
