Tedros didn't have much to do the next day. His brother didn't need him to attend the meetings, so he had the whole day to himself.

After breakfast, Tedros tried to find his friends, but they were nowhere to be found. Kiko, Dot, and Beatrix were going shopping; Hester was busy with God knows what; Sophie was still apparently mad; Anadil freaked him out so that got her of his to-find list; Hort was weird; so that meant that his option was to find Chaddick, Tristan, and Agatha.

Apparently, They were in the gym considering how Hester said that the boys were getting the asses whooped. He might as well see what happens.

About ten minutes later, he walked in and saw Chaddick and Tristan sparring with Agatha at the same time. He watched in awe as Agatha blocked Chaddick's attack and turned her attention to Tristan. In a quick yet artsy motion, she twisted her sword around Tristan's and it released from his hand. Agatha caught it in the air, and hit Chaddick with a series of attacks that he barely blocked. About a minute later, Agatha's sword was pointed at Chaddick's neck, and Chaddick's hands were in the air.

From across the room Tristan slowly clapped his hands, taunting her. Agatha did a small curtsy and put her sword back in its sheath.

"You're pretty handy with that sword." Tedros blurted out. "You think you can beat me?"

Agatha scuffed. "Is that a challenge?" Tedros looked up, and then back at her. She was smirking and had one eyebrow raised. She looked hot. A thin layer of sweat covered her hair and skin. Her arm muscles were naturally a little ripped, enough to throw a good punch. No wonder Hester thought she was a badass.

"Yeah." he said confidently. "It is."

Tedros had to admit, she was good. The first two minutes was him dodging and blocking her attacks. His back was starting to get sore from rolling to the side. She was strong but also clever. Once Tedros finally gained a little ground or at least enough to put up a fight, he took times attacking her side. She blocked all of them.

Then Tedros released his sword. He ducked on a few swings, but then caught her wrist. He used the momentum of the swing to wrap his arm around her body while still holding her wrist. His heart beat a little faster as he pressed his body to hers. She tried to turn and pull out of the situation but was left stuck.

"Looks like I won." Tedros whispered in her ear.

"Or maybe you didn't." Agatha responded.

A second later she stabbed her elbow into his rib cage and he grunted. She slammed her foot into his as she twisted. Since Tedros was still holding on, they both moved and fell to the ground. Tedros we cautious of the sword that was still in her arms. After a bit of scrambling, Agatha found her sword's handle and pressed the tip against his neck while straddling him. He looked up at her and blushing, she looked away, her face obviously red.

Chaddick and Tristan laughed at the site. "Looks like we should give the lovebirds some room." Chaddick said as Agatha got off of Tedros. He and Tristan laughed harder.

Tedros scowled. There was nothing romantic about that, was there? Did Agatha find it that way?

"I'm gonna go get some water." Tedros said. He walked through the hallways in silence.

Why did what Chaddick say affect him so much? He put his hand to his heart. It was beating fast.

She is just a girl. Tedros thought. She's just a girl.

Tedros stopped. He looked out the window. But she's not just a girl is she? She's brave, strong, fun.

But you have Sophie. Tedros thought.

Sophie's different. Sophie's like every other girl after him.

But you are betrothed to her. Tedros thought. And she actually likes you.

She likes me because she has too.

Agatha doesn't like you. His self conscience continued until someone approached him.

"Hey, you okay?" She asked.

Tedros turned around and saw Agatha. His heart skipped a beat. "Yeah, I wanted to go for a walk."

She looked down. "Oh. " She said. "Can I join you?" She had a sparkle in her eyes.

Tedros nodded and they walked down the halls in silence.

"So..." She started. "Anything new going on?"

"No." He said. "Well, I talked to my brother about your meeting."

Agatha turned to met his eyes. "Really?"

"Yeah," he said stopping and facing her. "It's tomorrow at one."

She looked down for a second. "Wow." She looked back into his eyes again. "Thank you."

Tedros nodded. "Can I ask you something?"

"What?" She had that sparkle in her eyes again.

"How did you become a guard? And why? You could have had a life somewhere safe. Why didn't you get a different profession."

Agatha looked down. They had come to a stop now. "My dad died when I was little. And my mom had a hard time making a living for me and her. So... when I was sixteen, I joined the guard. I worked my ass off getting better and better so that I would get promoted and get more money to support my mom."

Tedros looked into her eyes. "Your mom must be really proud." She smiled at him. He smiled back.

"So, what about you?" She said walking over to a bench. I followed her.

"What about me?" I said sitting down. She followed.

"What's your story?" She asked.

"I don't think you want to hear."  He scoffed.

"I've got time." She said.

He sighed. "When I was six, a guard introduced me to a sword. His name was Lancelot. He was like a second father to me. That of course was all until the day when my father found out the my mother was cheating on he with his most trusted knight."

Agatha looked at him with sympathy in her eyes. "Tedros I'm so sorry."

"It's okay." He said quietly. "Then my father started drinking. He became an alcoholic and couldn't stop. He died about a year later and that left me and my brother. My brother took the crown when he turned 16 so when I was 14. He told be that I was betrothed to Sophie two years later and now I'm eighteen and doing fine."

Agatha pulled him into a hug. "I'm really sorry. You didn't have to tell me."

"You asked. I didn't mind." He said into her shoulder.

"I would never what anyone to go through what you have gone through." she said. Tedros's heart hurt, but was fluttering at the same time.

A clock chimed on the wall. It was twelve o'clock. "I have to go. My brother wants me to be at lunch."

"Okay." She said she smiled and got up.

She started walking away. "Hey, Agatha?" Tedros asked.

"Yes?" She said. Her fingers were fidgeting. Tedros smiled at that.

"Thanks for going on a walk with me." She smiled and nodded. Soon she was out of sight but not out of mind.

Tedros's stomach was in knots. Maybe she didn't think of him as spoiled prince like before. That rest of the day Tedros roamed the halls for reasons to get his mind off the black-haired guard.
