In Whitney’s House
Whitney is in her room changing her stained cloth and trying to digest the news she just heard when her mum calls her downstairs so she goes downstairs to see what her mum wants and is ambushed with a candlelight dinner with her parents. Whitney’s initial reaction was to leave but after receiving the sign from her mum she decided to stay; one dinner won’t hurt right? Whitney thought to herself as she sat down for another awkward meal. Awkward meals have become a norm in the Keynes House since the unfortunate incident that was why everyone, Whitney especially, did everything possible to miss dinner but there was no escape today so she had to suck it up today and go through the meal without any hiccups but this was easier said than done as Whitney found a set of keys in her food.
“What’s this”, Whitney said,
“Well…it’s a …it’s a…” David said,
“It’s a new car”, Alexis said cutting David short, “Your dad got it for you”, Alexis continued. Whitney couldn’t help stopping the sigh that came out of her mouth. David sensing it came in with some damage control “It’s nothing fancy and if you don’t like it I could always return it, I just thought you could use it, I’m sorry for not asking you first, don’t be angry”, David concluded and just like a volcano waiting to erupt Whitney finally let herself go and said it as it came to her
“Angry…you think am angry about a stupid car…why would I be angry about that…how about the fact you didn’t even bother to stick around in the morning to wish me instead, how about the fact that you didn’t even ask me before you went and got a stupid car or how about the fact that I saw you screwing another woman in the house when I was just 6 years old” and just like that it was said in the open, the secret that ruined this family, or more so ruined Whitney forever.
“Whitty Stop!” Alexis said to draw them back from their sense of déjà vu
“No mum that isn’t even the worst news, I found out, on my Birthday, that dad’s little action with that lady gave him another kid. That’s right, I’m not the Child of this man, he has a demon spawn with another woman….” Although baffled by this news Alexis blurted out the only words she knew would keep her family together “I knew”
