“Huh” Whitney murmured trying to avoid the question.
“I know you heard me… and it’s alright if you don’t want to answer, I get it…Brains back so I guess I got the answer I was looking for”
Whitney so wanted to yell “it isn’t true” but she couldn’t because deep down she knew he had a point. She couldn’t tell if she was only considering Justin because Brian wasn’t around at the time or if she had genuine feelings for him but whatever she decides she wasn’t going to lead any of them on until she decides, especially not Justin; he had been a good friend to her all her life.
“Oh and hey I heard about your dad” Justin said as he turned off the engine of the car since they were already at her house. “I Know you must be pissed off at your mum right now for hiding this from you and you have every right to be, but come on its your mum, she isn’t the bad guy here, don’t start hating on her yet until you hear the full story. Who knows they may be more than what is on the surface”
Whitney gave a sigh of relief, talking to Justin always seemed to calm her down and it did today despite the awkwardness, Something about Justin made her feel safe and secure and no matter what her feelings were she didn’t want to lose that so she gave him a peck on the cheeks and left. She knew something about today’s peck felt different but she didn’t mind. She didn’t mind if the peck would give Justin hope, “it should” she thought to herself Justin had a special place in her heart ,no doubt, it’s just finding out if its only as friends or not. She grabs her backs and leaves.
INSIDE WHITNEYS HOUSE
Whitney walked in expecting to see her dad in the kitchen or something lurking around to make sure she’s safe but not showing his face so as to not aggravate the matter and her mum in her room but the reception felt strange, her mum was on the staircase with her face bent down and it’s obvious she had been crying.
“Mum was going on” Whitney said, a little freaked out by the scene that was happening in her house
“Mum…Mum…Mum…Mum” Whitney persisted when she received no reply from her mum.
“I kicked your dad out” Alexis finally raised her head and said and it felt like someone had just punched Whitney in the stomach. Although Whitney didn’t like her dad all so much she never thought he’d finally leave, leave her.
