Lovin a Cowboy

Chapter 4:

I'm not really sure where im going with this book lol. I started it like six months ago and i have some great idea's but i think Painful Beauty and The Wooded are my main priority right now. I will still continue posting chapters on this book though when i feel the inspiration to write for it.

Not a certain day i will be posting just know i will be posting some time.

Chapter 4:

"I'm afraid." i say to Leo as i look over the huge horse infront of me. Leo wanted me to get on his horse called pieces. I guess Miley named it because it looked like reeses piece. The horse is brown a dark brown so she looks like chocolate.

"Don't be just put ya boot in the hold and lift ya self ova." Leo has been telling me the same thing for a bout an hour but im afraid the horse will throw me off. I give him a frown and he nods his head motioning for me to do what he says . Putting my new boot in the foot hold i jump up and swing my leg over. Leo claps and says "See it wasn't so bad."

"I reckon." i say mocking him and he sends me a smile.

Leo grabs the straps and walks around with me through the yard so i can get use to the horse. As we walk he explains to me what to do and how to do it. What all you have to learn is a lot to take in but im glad i get the chance to ride a horse. Living in the city this is the first time i've been this close to a horse.

Finally Leo gets onto a huge black horse and comes up beside me. "Don't go to fast." i instruct him pleadingly because i dont know if i can go fast on this animal. I'm afraid just walking how they normally do.

After a few miles of walking Leo speaks up and says "Reckon we could go faster?" i nod giving him the okay and he nudges the horse telling it to go faster. Doing the same i keep up with him.

He goes through trees and over hills untill he comes to a stop. I follow his gaze and see a nice sized pond. Theirs only a few trees around it and ducks are in the pond just swimming around. Flowers are close to the water but not to close adding lots of color to the pond. "This is beautiful."

"Not as beautiful as ya." Leo says and i look over to him startled.

I blush because i didnt know he liked me. I mean i see him looking at me sometimes but i didnt know he liked me. I like him to and i have never liked anyone before i was always worried about worship and work or school i never had a boyfriend. "Thank you."

Leo gets off of his horse and comes to help me off of mine. He ties them up and grabs my hand pulling me to the lake. I look down at our joined hands but dont say anything because i love the feel of my hand in his.

We sit on the grass watching the birds in the water. "So why arn't you married yet?" I ask Leo after as few moments of silence. He is a good man and very attractive so why doesn't he have a wife.

Leo looks over to me startled. "Why do ya ask?"

I give him a glance and then look back out to the water. "Because you're a very handsome and hard working man. I just think you should already be married."

"Hmm." he says and then amused he says "Glad to know ya think im handsome." I shoot him a annoyed look and he says "Really? I didn't find the right woman." I nod knowing what he means. I never found the right man untill i asked a cowboy where the highway was. "You?"

"The same as you i guess. I never really looked at a man for love i just figured God would send me the right man when he wanted."

"Yous a real big christian?" He asks observing me closely.

"Yes i grew up in the church it was my first home never my second. Any time i was able to go i was there bright and early doing everything i could for the lord." looking over at him i ask "How about you?"

"I didnt grow up in the church but i am a christian. I was baptised and saved at eighteen. Darren he has always been a christian and he took me with him every time i could go. I love the Lord and attend church every Sunday morning. My family doesnt go but i try and get them to attend. Miley goes quite a bit but Mary doesnt attend." he explains and i frown because Mary would be a perfect child of Christ. She is really proper and nice doesnt cuss and cares about everyone.

"Well, if im still here Sunday i would like to attend."  

"That would be great." Leo says taking my hand. It's been two days and still no one has called back about fixing my car. Leo and i have been having fun around the ranch. Yesterday he showed me the chickens. We stole their eggs and it was so sad because they didnt want us to take their babies. That practically took all day because he had so many.

That night when i went to bed Chief climbed into bed with me protecting me with his bid body. He keeps me warm and with him i dont need a night light because he will protect me from anything bad. Leo is finally okay with him being in the house when we are. I just have to put on the puppy dog face anytime he complains and he juts shuts right up.

Today we mucked the horse stalls and then Leo wanted to go for a ride so he begged me untill i said yes. We have been getting really close but ii dont know where it is going. Something was keeping me here and Leo could be the answer. I like him alot more than i should for only meeting him four days ago.

 "I like ya alot." Leo says out of the blue. My eyes quickly shoot to his and i see the truth in his depths.

"I like you to."

He smiles widely and says "Then ya should just stay here."

"What?"

Leo nods and says "I have lots of extra room since its just me and Chief. He loves ya an i like ya so ya wouldnt be a problem."

He looks so hopeful i dont want ot hurt his feelings but im going to have to. "Leo my whole life is in Cincinnati. My apartment, my job, my family. I cant just let all of that go and move in with you. I have to make a living LEo."

Leo shakes his head quickly and says "Ya dont have ta work. I can get ya anything ya need or want."

"So what about my apartment and my family?"

Sitting up straighter he says "Ya folks can visit and we can visit. Just sell ya apartment."

"I'm sorry Leo but its not that simple. I have a twin sister and this is the longest we have ever been apart. She even lives with me thats how close we are. My mum died last year so my father needs me right now. I'm a police officer and i would need to give notice of my leaving. Nothing is ever that simple in life Leo."

He looks away from me and says "I understand."

Sadly i shake my head because he looks so down. I wish i could do what hes telling me i really do because he is a nice man and he would do anything for me i already know that but life isnt simple. Their are alot of things i have to take into consideration before i can do anything. "I'm sorry." i say quietly.

Leo looks over to me quickly and shakes his head. "It's alright tadpole. We can't always hav what we wont in life."  

"I really do like you." i assure him because i do. We have a connection even though i know nothing about him we have a connection.
