Chapter One:

Smacking my GPS i send a silent prayer to God for him to help me on my way. I have been out here lost in the middle of no where for two hours. Nina the thing i call my GPS took me off of the highway and through country roads. All i have seen so far is a few houses, lots of smelly animals and plants.

After another hour God finally answered my prayers and i start seeing houses and cars more than just trees and animals. No one is out side they must still be sleeping because it is only ten in the morning. God only knows if i didnt have to be some where i would still be sleeping.

Pulling into a parking lot to a store i park my mustang and get out. Running my fingers through my hair to get the tangles out i look around for anyone that would be able to help me.

My eyes skim over the people busily moving to get into and out of the store lot. They dont rush around like in the city they take their time but you still know that they are busy. My eyes land on a man sitting on the back of the truck bed. He's got his cow boy hat tipped down chewing on a piece of wheat.

I smile because that is the typical cowboy. My feet take me his way before i even know what i'm doing. "Sir?" i ask stopping in front of him.

His head snaps up and his crystal blue eyes widen. Mine widen along with his because God made a beautiful creature when he made this man. He has blond hair that you can see peaking out of his cowboy hat and strong features making him look about thirty. Theirs a small scar on his cheek but it just makes him all the more beautiful. He's tall i can tell from him sitting down but i bet when he stands he's about six and a half feet tall. He's got that build of a working man and the tanned skin of a man outside all day.

The cowboy stands and i'm right hes a giant. Standing he says in his southern accent "Howdy' ma'am what can i do ya for?" His voice is deep and booming standing out around the quiet country air.

Smiling charmingly at him i say "Well, Sir my GPS won't seem to cooperate and i need to be on my way. Do you know where the highway is?"

"Yous in luck tadpole cause i's do." I give him a strange look because he just called me a baby frog but i listen to his alluring voice nun the less. "I reckin you take this ere road till ya happen along a fork. Fork right an you'll happen along the freeway."

Before i can respond thunder booms through the sky making me jump. Looking up i see the dark ugly clouds starting to move in and cover the sun. Frantically i look over to my car and notice the hood still down. "Thank you Sir." I shout as i run to my car.

Jumping in in put the top back up and look over to see the man still looking at me. Before i pull away i send him one last wave and smile and pull out of the lot. I cant help but want to pull back into the store lot and ask him his name and just anything about him but i don't, i keep driving.

Pops always told me to listen to my concise and my heart because, they are always right but i guess im just stubborn.

Before i get any farther than a few blocks i hear a ding and a flashing light informing me that i am in need of gas. "God why don't you want me to leave?" i ask him because everything is holding me back.

A little gas station comes into my view and i think the Lord i didn't run out of gas in the middle of the storm. Parking at the pump i go in to the gas station to pay and to get me a quick snack. Driving in the rain is going to be a long journey.

"Hello." a bubbly blond teen greats as i walk into the gas station.

"Hi how are you?" i ask in the same bubbly tone because i am always happy. Having Jesus Christ as your savior can do that to a girl.

"Good thank ya." she twangs with a bright smile. "May i ask the same?"

Lightning strikes the sky and a second later thunder shakes the small gas station. Huge rain drops start coming out of the sky falling quickly pounding on the windows. "I am great but this storm is not so great." Walking to the back of the small store i grab a cherry coke and some cheddar ruffle chips.

Looking out of the window she nods in agreement and says "It wasn't on the news."

"Wow" i say shocked. "They must not have seen it coming." Quickly the rain turns into hail. At first the hail ponds lightly on the window but quickly the hail turns bigger pounding against the window. Every time a golf ball sized hail hits the window i cringe because it is coming so quickly. "We should get away from the window." i say to the girl because i wont be able to go out now and it wouldnt be good to be close if it bursts.

"We should. Theirs an office in the back and it has no windows." She informs me coming out from behind the desk. I follow her as she walks to the back of the station and walks through a door. The office is small and has a little desk with a small filing cabinet. "My momma will probably call ere shortly." the girl says and not seconds later the telephone rings. She grins and picks it up.

She takes a seat and i do the same looking around the room as she talks on the phone. "No, ma'am yes ma'am a young lady." She says and i smile because she is a young lady i am a woman of twenty-four. When she hangs up the phone she says "Momma's gon come when the storms through. Said she reckin ah twister was passin through. "

I nod and we sit through the storm for hours hearing thunder and the rain. The fragile building shakes and i wonder how long it can go through these strong winds. "God, i ask you to watch over this gas station as the storm passes through. Let no harm come to Miley and i as we wait out the storm in Jesus name Amen."

"Thank ya." Miley says with a smile. "The Lord is ah blessing."

"Yes he is." i agree with the teen surprised. Now a days its so hard for a teenager to give themselves over to the lord. They listen to the flesh and do the sinful things.

The office door finally opens and a tall man with brown hair peeks inside. "DADDY!" Miley shouts jumping up to wrap her arms around the man.

I stand along with her and watch as he tightly wraps the girl in his arms and kisses her forehead. "You okay baby girl?" he asks with only a slight accent. You can tell he wasn't born here but hes been here for quite a few years.

"Ya this kine woman here prayed fo us."

The mans green eyes turn to me and i can see how hes her father. "Do you happen to own a fancy blue car?"

Confused i cock my head and say "I do?"

The man sucks in a breath and frowns at me. "Well ma'am i am sorry but your not going to be drivin it anytime soon."

My eyes widen and i rush out of the room noticing the big window busted and a few items thrown around the gas station. Carefully i make my way around all of the rubble and go outside to see a huge tree trunk stuck through the windshield of my car. "Are you serious? God why, why can't i leave?" i shout because their is no reason to do all of this. I guess if i would have just followed my heart i wouldn't be in this situation.

"He does everythin for a reason." I turn and look at the man with a frown.

"Yes but what is this reason?" i question turning back to my ruined car. "Now i have no transportation."

"You are welcome as a guest until you can get it fixed." The man offers and i decline.

"I couldn't intrude but thank you very much. Do you have a motel?"

The man shakes his head and i look at him in shock. How does this town not have a motel? "I insist and my wife would as well. Come along now." he says turning to get in a truck the young girl has already took position in. She scoots to the middle and i climb in beside her. "My brother will fetch your items and bring them by."
