Chapter 35
A/N: A little late in saying this but I posted a Christmas Special. Go check it out.
Just as soon as the word of the attack had come did the Federation Type-10's emerge from the tree line. A massive barrage of 120mm shells rained down and destroyed nearly half of the Association Defensive Wall. Roughly half of the Association M60 Patton's were disabled along with a third of the Edison T-14's. The ensuing charge revealed a massive shock. The entire Type-10 contingent was here. Every single one of them. Akari was adamant on ending this war here and now.
Colonel Abernathy hung his head in his hands at the ensuing barrage of words being said over the radio. Nearly half his team seemed to be speaking at once and as a fact he could not hear any of what was being said. The wall was failing, and he had no other card up his sleeve. Except for one thing.
"I'm telling you, let us go out there. We've been dealing with Akari longer then you have, we know how she operates and how to make her panic. We'll do a better job at it." Edward pleaded with Abernathy. With the Defensive line falling he knew that he had to get his forces out there. The Joint High School team has made heavy leeway so far and they can do it again.
"No. we cant send these kids into that mess. Those Type-10's are illegal assets and even with the downgrade in armor and performance to meet Tankery standards, they can still do permanent damage to their vehicles with a high possibility of hurting them." Abernathy's Captain complained. He did make a good point. The high schoolers tanks armor wouldn't hold against those modern tanks.
"They may be strong but we're faster. We've proven that already. The Mercer Karl's and even the Gustav Cannon were no match for us. We can beat her." Edward said putting emphasis on 'can'. Abernathy had to admit, Edward had a point too. Speed was as much a factor in combat as strength was. Abernathy let one last sigh out before he turned to face his Captain, and the JHS team leaders.
"Alright. Go do your thing. Make your country proud." Abernathy said. Edward nodded and left followed by Maho, Miho, and Hans. The three made there way to the local garage's where stationed, ready, and waiting, was their team.
"Alright lock and load! Colonel Abernathy has given us the green light. Akari's launching everything she has at us. Davis whats the assessment?" Edward asked as he got into his Hellcat and placed his headset on his head.
"Type-10 Main Battle Tanks, 10 tons of mass in basic loadout, 120 mm/L55 Smoothbore Cannon, type's 90 and 74 machine guns, 4-stroke V8 Diesel Engine running in at 1,200 Horse Power, with a maximum speed of 43 miles per hour or 70 Kilometers and hour." Davis laid out.
"So how hard do we have to hit these things? Some of our tanks aren't that strong." Katyusha asked.
"No, we're not hitting them from afar. Get in close and hit there vitals. These tanks are modern and strong. Speed and agility is our advantage here. Akari is easily ticked off. So lets go poke a tiger in the eye." Edward said. "All units sound off."
"Ooarai Team ready." Miho acknowledged.
"Kuromorimine Team ready." Maho confirmed.
"Pravda Team is a go." Katyusha boasted.
"Virginia Team standing by." Davis alerted.
"Support Team standing by." Darjeeling said as she was commanding a joint team of Saunders and St Gloriana.
"Uncle Sam Team awaiting launch." Hans Notified.
