The bustling streets of New York were nothing compared to those in Raviena. Radiant turned around, studying the buildings for a second. Melody walked past her, not really showing her shock at the new place.
"This is so strange," Radiant said, pausing for a second. "I like it."
Following the younger female, Radiant took mental notes of buildings she found important. A small café, a large library, a path headed toward something beyond the city, and the building they were headed for.
Home of the Crafters, she thought. Several Crafters were walking by, their gaze following the trio. Some younger Crafters stopped their games to watch Radiant pass, murmuring about her. She waved to them, smiling at their adorable faces of shock.
"Radiant, voulez-vous arrêter, s'il vous plaît?" Melody asked, glancing back at the colorful child. Radiant shook her head,
"It's called being a fun person."
Marina sighed. She was standing a little ways away, staring at the large bulletin board covered with ads and news.
"Looks like a couple of threats were made against the Crafters by a race called the Chaos Creatures," she said, pointing at one of the pages. Radiant and Melody walked over, looking at it.
"Huh. I read about those in the book. They're an ancient species of beings who feed off the chaos in life. They have a spirit animal, those it's most likely to be a snake or fox." Radiant said. "Usually some creature that some say are bad omens or are sly tricksters."
Melody brushed her hand over some other papers.
"Wonder what those threats were."
"They were nothing for us to be worried about. They won't attack us." a voice answered from behind. Turning, the trio found Chrona standing there, checking her little gold pocket watch. Radiant dipped her head.
"Morning, Chrona," she said, standing up again. Chrona gave a respectful nod, put away her watch, and headed off.
"Come on. You have to keep learning about Magic," she said, not looking back. Radiant hurried to follow her, glancing back at the other two.

Radiant flipped through the pages of court transcripts, reading over a few words here and there. Picking up another case, she noted down the name on the file. The People V Jackson. She set it down on the table by her book, then continued reading.
"How is the research going, Radiant?" Chrona asked, walking over with a small book. Radiant shrugged, set down another file, and grabbed another.
"Sorting the files that seem like really important ones," she said, looking up from the small file. Chrona nodded and handed her the book.
"Here, it's the book I told you about."
Radiant nodded, taking the gold decorated book. Reading the title, she scratched her arm, suddenly getting itchy.
"Are you alright?" Chrona asked, stepping closer. Radiant nodded, setting the book down on top of the file. Chrona stood up, sighed, and walked away, leaving the human alone in the large courtroom. Watching her leave, Radiant opened the book and read over the table of contents.
"Wars and Treaties, Fall of Chaos. Pretty interesting naming," she murmured, recalling the naming in the other book. "Pretty book cover, though."
She heard the doors creak open and glanced up, seeing Marina walking in. She was carrying a small bag and a large Styrofoam cup.
"What's that?" Radiant asked, moving the files and slightly pushing the book to the right. Some fell to the floor, scattering papers across the floor.
"That's unfortunate. By the way, this is some Nova Tea and some brioches Mel made," Marina said, setting the bag down and picking up the papers. Radiant sighed, before taking the cup.
"Thanks. And you guys know you didn't have to get me anything, right? Mel didn't have to make me anything." she said, taking a sip of the new drink. She decided to keep her enjoyment to herself, trying to push the fact that she was fine and never asked for it. Marina let out a soft laugh,
"And you know that means 'get me something cause I'm getting hungry'. We know you, Ray. You can't play tricks like that on us. At least, not very well."
Radiant nodded, finally letting her smile appear. Marina was usually right about those things. The two sat together, enjoying the French pastries made by the expert chef. Radiant read aloud the new book, starting with a war she had only heard about from Majic's journal entries.
"Sparked by insanity, many of the ranks began to hate Crafters and blindly followed him into a bloody war. The Crafters did not want to engage in this fight but were left with no choice when Universe grew ill. The leader of this corrupted fall, Jackson, would not stop until Universe was killed." she read, shifting at bit at the thought of insanity being a driving force of war. Marina shared the sentiment, glancing around the courtroom like something was watching them.
"In a final attempt to end Universe, Jackson assaulted Sparical, only to be met by the silver blade of Majic. The trio had been on watch, protecting the sick Universe from attacks like this. A decisive blow from Majic ended Jackson, locking him into a small amulet for thousands of years. Those who followed Jackson fled and became known as the Fallen." Radiant finished, skipping over most of the brutal information. She pulled out the file, flipped it open, and started reading.
"Sounds like this Jackson guy wasn't very nice," Marina said, shutting the book and placing it in a bag. Radiant nodded,
"Yeah. Kind of scary, really."
