Your upcoming game was nearing as you excitedly waited for Kiyoko outside the gym. Today's goal was to get her number.
For a few days you and Kiyoko hung out more often and grew closer, the same goes for your feelings for her. However it was still unknown to you, that the feelings were mutual.
"Are you ready to head out?" She suddenly popped out from the gym catching you off guard. "Yeah let's go beautiful." She giggle as she heard your nickname for her.
Although you knew her name you preferred nicknames as it made her blush giving you the opportunity to see her cute expressions.
When you arrived you made sure to grab her number. "C-can I have your number?" She seemed surprised at first but gave it to you.
"I'll see you tomorrow bye [name-san]."
"Bye glasses-chan." You sent her your famous wink and began your way home.
~time skip~
Blaring alarm woke you as you slammed your hand stopping the noise. It was around four in the morning and you got up and packed your bags.
Leaving notes and eating breakfast you headed out towards the school. When you arrived the coaches stood by the busses loading any necessary equipment.
"Good morning [name]." The coach greeted as they took your bag. "Morning." You waved as you groggily made your way into the club room to change.
Soon all the team members arrived and did the same before loading into the bus.
"Ready to head out?" You asked as you made last minute checks. Everyone nodded and the bus was off.
You sat in the front as it was your job while the coach was driving to watch the players from making a ruckus.
"You think glasses-chan will come?" The VC asked as they poked your shoulder. "I know she will, I texted her the location already too."
The VC smiled and patted your shoulder wishing you luck.
The bus pulled into the Tokyo stadium where you'd play. The players excitedly cheered as they ran off into the stadium.
"Oi come back here!" You screamed trying to catch them. A long sigh made way as you unloaded the bus. "Look at all these vending machines!" A teammate screamed as they began messing around with the buttons.
"Get off of the machine we have places to be." The team sadly nodded and followed after you.
As you entered the gym different teams stared as you made your way in. Many school knew about your athletic scholarship offers to many power schools but never knew why you chose karasuno.
It was simple really, cause Daichi along with your parents wanted you to so you went along. Nothing all complicated or personal really, all you needed was a food, education and a job in the future.
"Okay kids, this is a very important day. We can't afford to mess up, I believe in you do your best."
Everyone cheered and began to warm up. A few hours passed and teams began to fill the stadium seats as well as guest from other prefectures.
You scanned the crowd for the one person you wish was here, but she wasn't. 'She's probably late' you thought as a long sigh escaped your lips.
The team noticed your mood drop and became worried that you wouldn't play at your best. 'Get here quickly Kiyoko.' They all thought as they couldn't afford to loose.
Whistling and buzzing echoed through gym as the other schools began to play against each other.
A few hours and games later and it was finished your teams turn. But Kiyoko was yet to be seen.
You tried to cheer yourself up and went along with your team. "We're coming and leaving with a win, you can do it." You continued to pep talk the players as you could since how stressed they look. "Haba-san you look like you'll throw up." A teammate pointed out. "Just do your best, if we win I'll treat everyone to a meal."
Suddenly the atmosphere changed as the faces of everyone brightens upon hearing food. "Then we all vote on the ramen house!" The VC said as they all shared one last cheer before getting into their positions on court.
The whistle was blown indicating the start of the game. The ref threw the ball up, immediately the ball was in your teams hand as they passed and dribbled down the large court.
"Tomu!" You screamed as you passed the ball to them. Jumping up they threw the ball making a perfect shot.
The stadium burst into cheers as the game continued. For a while your team was in the lead as the other team struggled to keep up with the immense amount of energy and strength your team trained to achieve.
After the first quarter your team took the winning points. Still no Kiyoko, at this point you began to loose hope that she remembered.
The team had no choice but to carry on. As the second quarter started the team played off a good few points before the rival team began ranking up some points.
"Come on you can do it." Your teammates yelled as you ran to make a dunk. However it was blocked by an overly tall player, knocking you and the ball to the floor.
Air was knocked out of your lungs as you struggled to get back up. The players around you cheered as your team tried to help you.
"You can do it [name]!"
Your eyes widened as you heard a familiar voice in the crowd. Scanning the crowed you saw Kiyoko holding up a sign with your face on it. You laughed and gave her a thumbs up before standing back up.
Time out was called as you were given a check up.
"I believe in you." You heard her scream again. A smirk made way as you sent her a wink.
"Let's win this!"
The players rejoice as they were glad to have their captain back.
