The following Friday night I found myself getting ready to attend an awards show on Oliver's arm. Both of us, along with a few other show hosts from Catch-22 had been invited to the Critics Choice Movie Awards and even though I'm on maternity leave, I opted to still go to the ceremony.

I had spent most of the afternoon getting dolled up, starting with a massage in the morning, a lash extension appointment and then a mani/pedi in the afternoon before being glammed up by my stylist and makeup artist that usually got me ready for my show. By the time they had left, I felt like a million dollars in the short shimmery pale pink dress I was wearing, the heels I had gotten from Oliver for Valentine's Day and my hair slicked back. Tayla, my make up artist, had done my make up as expertly as she always did and gave me a subtle but smokey enough cherry eye and had the rest of my face glowing and then had straightened and slicked back my hair for me.

"Look at you," Tara whistled as I let her and April into the apartment just after 6pm that evening. "Who are you trying to impress?"

"No one," I laughed and then greeted the two women. April was going to start off her au pairing job for Daniel by watching him while I was out tonight. And Tara's here as a tag along.

"You look hot as fu -" Tara began to say but then looked over at Dan who was looking at the two ladies intensely. "As heck. You look hot as heck tonight, Bree."

"Thanks, Tar," I laughed.

After giving April Daniel's feeding schedule and showing her where to find everything she could possibly need and assuring Tara that she was free to raid the fridge if she wanted to, Oliver arrived.

"Damn," Tara said to him as the four of us stood in the foyer. "If I liked men I'd be so into you."

For tonight's occasion, Oliver wore a black Armani suit that I had picked out for him a few days ago without a tie and a baby blue dress shirt and shiny black dress shoes. Like Tara had implied, he looked incredible. A perfect mixture of important and sexy.

"Um? I'll take that as a compliment?" He laughed.

"A big one," April giggled and then introduced herself to Oliver.

"Let me say goodnight to our boy and then we can go," Oliver said to me before heading into the living room. "Also, Sab?"

"Yeah?"

"The shoes look great," He winked, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Okay, please tell me you guys are secretly fucking," Tara said in a hushed voice. "Because girl."

"We're doing nothing of the sort!" I laughed and then went to say goodnight to Daniel as well.

"Okay buddy, you be good for April, okay? You're gonna be seeing a lot of her soon so you probably shouldn't mess it up with her," Oliver was saying to Daniel.

"He knows he'll be good, isn't that right, Dan?" I cooed at my baby. He let out an unresponsive gurgle.

After final kisses goodbye, Oliver and I left the apartment.

"You look really beautiful tonight, Sab," He said to me as he got into the limousine he had hired for the night.

"Thanks," I smiled at him. "You're looking pretty handsome yourself."

"You picked the suit. You knew I would," He laughed.

"When the girls good, she's good," I winked, happy that we were slipping back into our bantery ways.

Things were a bit awkward between us for a day or two after the almost kiss last Sunday night but we got back to normal pretty quickly after that and didn't talk about it, period.
