mattia's pov:
i folded the note back up and put it in my pocket his mom and both my parents where there too "oh my gosh are you ok" my mom said running up to me and hugging me "i'm fine" she took a breath of relief "where's alejandro" his mom asked
i could feel my eyes starting to water all over again "t-there was a shooter a-and he got shot" his mom looked at me with pure disbelief she started backing up and ran to the front lady "is there an alejandro rosario here" she said "yes he's in surgery" the lady said
his mom fell down and started crying i ran to her and hugged her "this is all your fault" she said pushing me off her "if he stayed home with me he wouldn't have went and he wouldn't be here fighting for his life" as much as i wanted to believe this wasn't my fault that thought was still stuck in my head
alejandro's pov:
"don't die on me" those words repeated in my head "wake up" i head a voice say and i knew it was mattia i was trying but it's not working my body isn't moving i feel like i'm being held back maybe this is it this is the end i tried everything
as everything was dark i seen a light "just come home they won't miss you" a dark shadow said i couldn't see who it was "what about mattia he cares" i said walking closer "stop holding on to him he's never gonna love you the way you love him"
"your right why am i still trying to stay in this world" i said walking even more closer the person held they're hand out and just as i was about to grab it i heard another voice "don't do it" i turned around "mattia?" i asked he smiled at me "just stay with me"
i began running towards him but something grabbed me "no your time is up" the shadows said pulling me in "fight ale you can do this" mattia did from a distance i began kicking and screaming and finally i was free i ran into mattia's arm and woke up
mattia's pov:
a few hours of crying the doctor came up to us "he's going to be ok" my heart skipped a beat as i got up and hugged the doctor tightly "thank you" my parents both came to me and hugged me as well i looked and i seen alejandro's mom crying tears of joy "mrs. rosario" i said walking to her
she looked at me and gave a sad smile "i'm sorry for all of this" she got up and hugged me "it's not your fault i didn't mean those words" i didn't know what to say i just hugged her "it's ok" i broke the hug and seen that my mom and dad were staring at us
"the night was ruined" i said walking up to them "well he's alive and your alive maybe you should tell him how you feel" my dad said rubbing my shoulder "maybe" we talked for a while until it was time to leave
-two weeks later-
alejandro's pov:
i woke up and the doctors were all around me "what time is it" i asked looking around "umm 10:30 oh shoot you have to come with me" she said getting up and grabbing my arm "where are we going"
she didn't answer me she just brought me to two doors "go through the doors we have a surprise for you" i was hesitant but walked through the door as i entered i seen a bunch of designs the light was dimmed and there were a bunch of balloons but one thing really caught me eye a shadow that was standing there
"hello" i said the person turned around "may i have this dance" i smiled and began walking to them "yes you may mattia" he took my hand and spun me around "i never had anyone do this for me" i said smiling hecka hard "well that's not all...guys" he said and then a bunch of my friends came walking in
my eyes grew teary "awee thank you" i said pulling him into a tight hug "oh so the letter i read it and i wanted to say-" he began saying "look i get it we'll never happen" i said cutting him off and he put a finger on my lips "no i wanted to say i love you to"
he looked at me and i looked at him "am i allowed to kiss you now" he asked cupping my cheek "yes you are" i closed my eyes as he pulled me in and we kissed it was magical it was everything i thought it would be
we pulled back and i looked at him "mattia" i said kinda scared and backing away "what's wrong" he said coming closer to me "y-your disappearing what's going on is it my eyes" i said rubbing my eyes and nothing changed he didn't look shock that this was happening
i then realized something "your not real are you" i said with tears coming down my face "i'm as real as you want me to be but your gonna have to wake up soon" he sis about to grab my hand but i pulled away "so all this was fake the walks, the talks, the hugs everything"
"not necessarily" he said looking down i looked around everyone that was there disappeared the balloons the designs everything except me and mattia "what does that mean" i said crying even more "you have to make a choice" i looked down at my feet as he was talking
"what choice" i asked "it's either you wake up and continue life or you stay here with me" he said with a tear falling down "i'm staying i love you" i said crying even more "no you can't please wake up" he said pulling me close "no i won't" he lifted my chin up "we will meet again i promise" with that he kissed me and i woke up
