I stand in the shadows, leaning on the side of a building and listening to the bats question the kiddies, smiling. They're not going to tell them shit, at least not anything important, I gave them permission to use both my names. Let's see how long it takes them to figure out there the same person.

"Have you seen this symbol anywhere?" Jason asks the kids, he's been asking them for a while, but they haven't said anything. It's making the little one mad and he's close to braking, but Dick holds him back.

"We're not here to take them in, we just want to make sure that they are okay and not in danger." Tim tells the kid, a closer look tells me the kid he's talking to is Nathan, sharp-eyed and wary. He glances at the others before making a decision. Without a word, he grabs Red Hood's hand and tugs him toward the meeting spot I set up for them—a safe haven for the street kids.

I slip through the shadows, trailing them to the small, abandoned building. It's a place I designated for the kids to gather, a neutral ground where they can talk or bring anyone looking for me or Siren. By the time they arrive, I'm already there, blending into the darkness like a second skin.

Nathan opens the door and steps inside, motioning for the others to follow. Cassady, one of their leaders, is already seated at the table. She listens as Nathan explains the situation in hushed tones, then nods and waves the Bats in.

"We just want to know if you have seen it around or know who it would be connected to?" Red says as he pulls out a copy and hands it to her.

Cassady bends down to look at the paper then leans back in her chair. "yeah, I've seen it. Why?"

"Because it's tied to something dangerous," Tim says. "If you know who's behind it, we need to talk to them."

Cassady's lips twitch into a faint smile. "You're talking about them like they're some kind of criminals. They've been protecting us street kids for months. Food, safety—everything. The only reason you even found us is because Nathan decided you were worth it."

"How can we contact them then? And what are their names?"

"Their names are Shadow and Siren, and you don't contact them, they contact you. Word of advice though, Shadow is quicker to anger than Siren, but be careful with both." She stands up and escorts them out. I follow them as they walk a little bit away from the building before Tim says.

She stands, signaling that the conversation is over. "Now, unless you've got something else, you're done here."

The Bats exchange glances, clearly frustrated but knowing they won't get any more out of her. They file out, and I trail them, sticking to the darkness as they move a short distance from the building.

"Well, that was a bust," Tim mutters, rubbing the back of his neck. "What are we supposed to tell Batman?"

"We've got a name," Dick says. "It's a start."

"Tch." Damian scoffs, his fists clenched. "They're cowards, hiding in the shadows instead of facing us directly." I let out a low chuckle, just loud enough for them to hear. Their reactions are immediate—defensive stances, weapons drawn, eyes scanning the dark.

"You should really not judge someone before you meet them Robin, You never know who is listening." I say and make it so my voice is surrounding them.

"Come out, we just want to talk." Tim says.

I laugh softly, stepping closer but keeping myself concealed. "And give you the chance to drag me to your precious Bat? No, thank you. I prefer to stay exactly where I belong."

The shadows ripple around them, thickening, pressing against their senses. "But I'll give you something to tell him. Let him know the streets are mine now. I protect the ones you overlook, the ones you've failed."
