Knock knock knock"Geez, I'm coming!"
I hurry towards the tapping sound that comes from the front door of Anson and Indie's home. Without waiting or stopping to think on who could be on the doorstep, I turn the knob and open the door wide.
To my surprise, several guys push their way through the crack.
"Hey!" I try to stop them from coming in, but they don't listen as they push me to the door with broad shoulders. I gasp in surprise.
What the heck? I must be dreaming, because I know they did not just intrude into this home.
I notice they go to school with me.
"Get out." I demand, "Stop!"
There are about five of them. They're all talking. One holds a full case of beer, and they start passing them out.
Alcohol? This isn't a frat-party!
I'm confused and angry. My palms clench. What's happening?
One of the guys sit on the sofa with his shoes still on. Another pops open a bottle of beer. I'm telling them to leave, but no one acknowledges me.
"Let's break this baby in," one says.
"Get out!" I persist, blood boiling.
Who are these freaks? I feel bile rising in my throat. Beer dribbles down a football player's chin and he turns on Anson's flatscreen.
I run over to take the remote away, but he pushes me back with all his might, and I fall down, landing on my butt.
I'll kill them all. This has one guy's name written all over it: Ace!
My butt is searing in pain. I get up on my feet, and I storm up the stairs to Ace's new room.
Throwing open the door, I burst inside.
He jumps in surprise. I see he's only in his underwear, now. His towel is hung over a chair to dry.
I don't even care. I march up to him without any reservations. He stumbles backwards, terrified of how fast I'm approaching. He knocks something off a shelf when his back hits the wall.
"How dare you." I spit, mere inches from his face. He looks frightened and confused.
"How dare you?!" My voice breaks. I repeat myself.
His pupils widen.
"I'm lost." He whispers, the violent voice in my head wants to knock him out.
"How dare you use my sister's hospitality like this?" I can't hide the emotion in my voice, "they trust you. How dare you take advantage of them!"
"Bryn, what are you talking about?" He growls, grabbing my head with his hands as I push him against the wall.
"Let go of my face." I sneer.
"Get off of me."
His eyes narrow. His fingertips burn where they meet my cheeks. I'm coursing with anger.
"You're going to regret this."
"I don't know what in hell you're talking about!"
Yeah, likely story. One of his meatheads just pushed me to the floor! How did they even know he was here?
Downstairs, a football game starts to play over the tv and stereo system.
Ace gets distracted for a moment by the noise. He lets go of my face.
