Time skip

I groan as I walk out of my after school detention. Man were the teachers here brutal! They didn't care that I already had detention on the same day, they just made me have detention at lunch, afterschool, and tomorrow morning.

Then when I think my day just couldn't get any worse, Cesar and Jessica, my most ruthless bullies, are right in front of me, leaning against a pole.

I curse myself in my head for jinxing myself and for my stupidly unlucky day. I can't even hope that they won't notice me.

Cesar notices me first.

"Hey Jessie, look who finally decided to show her face." He elbows her.

"Hey, watch it! You almost made me misclick and press send." She says angrily as she hits him back, her other hand tightly holding her phone.

"Beside who could it possibly be that you- Oh, if it isn't our sweet angel." Her voice rises in pitch, as she finally notices me.

I try to walk away quickly with my head down. Even though I knew that it was impossible to escape, I briefly hoped they would ignore me instead or just harass me psychologically with there snickers.

Of course nothing goes my way though.

I flinch as I feel someone grab me from my shoulder.

"Now don't be rude. Why don't you hang out with us for a while?" Cesar grins. I keep my face from wincing when I see his rotten molars and missing teeth. His bad breath is making me nauseous.

"And so you know, that wasn't a request." He whispers in my ear.

I look down helplessly as he drags me towards Jessica. I knew it was futile to even try to run, Cesar was the athletic one and he always catches me. It was useless to try and excuse myself, they both know that no one cared for me, I had no friends, and there was no one nearby to prevent them from doing what they wanted from me. I was doomed from the start.

"Now, what would an innocent thing like you be staying after school for? Hm? You're not in any club activities or assigned any projects from what I remember." Jessica clicks her tongue.

I stare at her as I shiver. Suddenly having a bad memory of not answering Jessica as soon as she asked. I still have faint scars from her sharp nails digging through my skin that time. As well as the nasty concussion from being hit in the head by Cesar.

"I was staying for detention." I reply meekly.

"Oh! You hear that Jessie? Maybe the angel everyone is seeing is really fake and the rumors of her being a demon are true." He snickers.

"Hm. Which reminds me. I heard something rather interesting this morning." Jessica says, looking up from her phone and staring at me.

"Some boys decided to prank our Etsuko here by spitting paper balls wet with holy water. They told me some... interesting things. But I would rather hear it from you, because unlike them, you don't exaggerate now do you." She says, tilting her head with a sickly sweet smile.

"I-I don't know what they saw. I just know that I have an allergic reaction to holy water. S-something in it m-makes me have r-rashes but t-the doctor says it's n-not the water d-doing it but s-something else." I stutter as I see the wicked faces growing on them.

"Oh, are you now? Tell me, does anyone else know?" She asks.

"Um. N-no? Other t-than my f-family, that is." I shrink.

"And how long do these rashes last for?" I shudder.

"Weeks." I whisper softly.

Jessica glares at me as she turns and nods at Cesar. I hold my breath as Cesar punches my stomach.
