November went flying from my hands, I was SO tired and yet so excited for everything I had accomplished in this few months.
It was a half shift day and I couldn't be more grateful because of the specific day it was today, there was a special redhead I would love to spend my day with - or at least as much as I could-.
Today was an oddly bussy day, mostly immediate, but still, there were a lot of people. The thing was entire families were comming to their annual check as part of a requirement after the dragon pox spread that happened a year ago.
I was just finishing my shift when I listened something fall, specifically, a potion.
A loud shout of pain came through the other side of the hall, which led me immediately there almost like a reflex.
When I got there, a little girl from about three years old was whining in the floor with her eyes closed as she rubbed them with her hands right next to a woman who was calling for help.
I had just seconds to analyze what had gotten in her eyes. Luckily, there were only ingredients were the girl managed to drop them off. And for the looks of it, it was an extract of trickfrogs. It had a strong acidic level, but it didn't had any repercussions if it was dissolved at time.
"I'm a mediwitch, I can take care if her, don't worry, everything's fine." With that words, the - I dare to assume- mother of the girl calmed down. "What's her name?" I asked the woman.
"It's Carol"
I reached closer to the girl by squatting to her height "Hi Carol, I'm here to help you, okay? You have to fear nothing, but I need you to stop rubbing your eyes, can you do that for me?" Carol slowly took her hands to her lap and her whining transformed into little hiccups, but she had her eyes still shut.
I had to carry her to the nearest stretcher an laid her down before running to the fire lily essence and Phoenix tears to dissolve and disappear the pain.
"You are doing great Carol! I know it hurts really bad, and I'm gonna make it go away really fast if you can open your left eye." I begged her as we had the time against us.
Her mother was caressing her head "Do as she says, fiică"
The girl opened her eyes and I quickly pour the drops in them. After 10 seconds, she was good as new.
"I'm sorry, I should've kept an eye on her" her mother said to me.
"Don't worry, the good thing is you were right here and we could help her.
Well that was something new.
In my way to the cabins I destroyed my head thinking about what could I give Charlie as a present. As I was running out of time to think, when I arrived to my bedroom I took out some mache and enchanted it so it would look like a mini paper dragon.
As soon as I was finished I took two of the honeydukes sugar quills I brought with me, threw them in my backpack and then carefully placed the mache dragon, now I was ready to walk into the forest. Did I know where I was going? No, I had no idea but at least I was going to try.
It had been at least fifteen minutes and the sun had already started to hide until I finally found sign of life, so I followed the silluet I saw from a far. Luckily it was a matter of time until I finally heard the roaring and heavy footsteps of the dragons.
The place was huge (and tree free so they wouldn't burn the whole place to the ground). There were five dragons still outside waiting to get to their caves that were all around the area except for some five that were way more isolated from the rest. It was clear that one of the few people that were still working was Charlie.
