"Avian... Avian you must awaken!" Unity's voice echoed through my mind. I slowly opened my eyes and looked around to see that I was in my room.

The sun was rising in the sky so it was sometime in the morning but I had no idea how long it had been.

I slid out of bed and got into a pair of black joggers, blue t-shirt, and threw on a jacket while replaying what had happened before I went unconscious.

"We defeated that Death Bringers and you passed out almost immediately after." Unity reminded me.

"That's right!" The memories flooded back to me. "But then it told me something before I passed out. What was it?" I paced around my room trying to figure it out.

"It's all a bit cloudy to me but I believe it said to come to a temple to master your power... THAT'S IT! She shouted. We need to get to your friend! I'll explain on the way!"

I decided to go along with it and went down the stairs. I was about to plow out the door when my mother cleared her throat. "Avian? Where do you think you're going?"

I turned back to see my father, mother, and baby sister eating at the table. "I'm going to work. There's probably tons of cleanup that needs to be done."

My father buried his head in his newspaper and my mother shook her head. "Avian, you were unconscious for the last day after fighting one of those things. You're not to go out today. I want you to rest."

I narrowed my eyes. "That's not fair! I'm fine now I was just tired."

My mom stood up and I groaned internally. "Avian Exemplar, I didn't want you joining that corporation in the first place so the absolute least you can do is take a day off to rest. You are 13 years old and clearly don't know your limits."

I wanted to tell something back at her but instead, I just stomped back upstairs. Running away again wasn't something I could put her through.

I went back into my room and Unity materialized in front of me. When I focused I was able to manifest a form for her but as far as I knew nobody else could see her.

She had an ageless face that was circular and almost robotic. A hooded cloak covered her head and most of her body. Unity's movements were all very floaty as if she was in space and she floated above the ground.

"Well Unity, while I'm stuck here we might as well talk," I said.

Unity nodded and placed her hand on the ring on my finger. It began to glow green and suddenly Lars and Talia's spirits appeared in the room.

My deceased friends were able to talk sometimes through the gemstone and with Unity's hell. I didn't understand it at all but I didn't need to.

I didn't get to see them often though and I still missed both of them. We only ever talked when they had some sort of guidance or expertise to offer me.

I nodded at them and then turned my attention to Unity. "Before that Death Bringer spoke to us I was unable to recall what Avian needed to do to channel his Life Energy. But its words brought the memories back!

"There are Soulwielder Temples located in South America where Avian can not only get close to the powers of the old Wielders but I can access the databases and fill in all my missing memories!" Unity explained.

"South America?" I asked. I was familiar with the old nation of America from hundreds of years ago that used to be where I lived but south of it was nothing but ocean and then the Corrupted Lands.

"It's an ancient continent. It's where Zerusus was before the Shadow Wars" Talia jumped in. "Now, though, it's part of the Corrupted Lands."

Lars crossed his arms. "Which means there's no chance you can get there."
