Shirabu looked through the paint cans in the storage. Now usually, he was only here around once every two months because Tendou was constantly adding to his room and required Shirabu's help. Mostly the storage room had paint, tools, and other kinds of things.

"What about this?" He turned to Semi, who was pointing at one of them. He picked up the can and just looked at it weirdly.

"This is pink."

"So?"

"Why would I want pink in my room?"

"I don't know, my old room was grey but I wanted something else."

"Then paint your room pink."

Semi laughed and took the can, putting it back and continuing to browse. Shirabu rolled his eyes for the millionth time and picked out some brushes, when he spotted some rolls of wallpaper in a cupboard. They weren't exactly in the best condition though.

He looked at the rolls and couldn't find much he liked. It was mainly kids stuff or science related, so he turned away quickly and eventually settled on a deep purple. (shiratorizawa's colour)

"Hmm, interesting choice of colour." Semi remarked. He took the can and left Shirabu with carrying the rest, which was only two brushes, covers for the furniture, and a tray.

"What's so weird about it?"

"Nothing." Semi couldn't help but giggle again. It was kind of getting on Shirabu's list of things that annoyed him, but then again there was a lot of things on that list. They took a brisk walk up to the bare room and placed the tools down. After covering the furniture they started painting.

As the final cover was tugged off his drawer Shirabu couldn't help but just stare. The boring blank old room he had lived in his whole life suddenly looked like he had started over.

"So, how is it?" Semi wiped the remaining sweat off of his forehead and smiled.

"I don't know, it's good but-" he couldn't think on what to say next. Sure it looked different, but it didn't feel any different. Shirabu sat down on his bed, and thought more about it. Semi sat down next to him and nervously chuckled.

"Hey, you don't need to overthink it." He sat back and exhaled loudly. "That's the last time I paint a room, I'm beat."

"My only question, why did you help me? Probably for your own benefit."

"My own benefit? No, I don't work that way." Shirabu scoffed and gave Semi a disapproving look. "Hey, I'm serious Shirabu." He moved back and met Semis gaze.

'He really looks sincere, I can sense it.' Shirabu thought to himself. His lips curled into a small smile, but before he could say anything Semi poked his cheek.

"Hey, you're blushing."

"What?" Shirabu touched his cheeks, and they were hot, but he couldn't feel a thing until his cold palms met the hot surface. "I guess I am. Don't laugh again or i'll punch you"

Semi held back his laugh, as he didn't wanna get punched, and got up. "You know, you should definitely change up your books. If you don't like science then you don't need these."

"Well most of them are my mums but I guess I can put these down somewhere else."

Semi backed off, noticing that he might of offended Shirabu in some way. So he spoke in a slightly lowered tone. "Your mum? Oh um, if you don't wanna talk about it that's fine."

"No you're alright Semi. It happened so long ago I'm fine to talk."

Shirabu moved from the bed, and headed for the door. "But I would rather not right now, let's go get something to eat, my dad would usually get me around this time." Semi nodded and followed Shirabu down to the kitchen. Unexpectedly he wasn't there, not even Tendou or Ushijima, no one was there.

"Um Semi? Can you cook?"

"Hm kinda? I can make omelette."

"Then do it."

Semi picked up a pan and took out some eggs. Sure he hadn't cooked in a while, but semi knew how to cook, and that was enough.

About 15 minutes later, semi completed the omelettes and made some toast to go along with it. When Shirabu took a bite, and instantly knew it was way better than his dads by a long shot. It was cooked well, had flavour and the toast wasn't completely burnt either.

"Wow, can you replace my dad? You're clearly better."

"I'm flattered honestly."

"Well don't expect that often. You've not seen me that much."

Shirabu finished his food and sighed. Then he realised that semi was definitely different than the other people that had come and gone. I mean, he helped him revamp his room, and seemed like a good person.

"Hey Shirabu."

"Hmm?"

"You wanna go outside right?"

"Yeah." Semi stuck his hand out for Shirabu to take, and smiled.

"Then I, Eita Semi, promise that I will take you outside. Even if it's only once, I will." Shirabu took his hand and stood up, nodding and was about to leave.

Then a certain red headed boy walked in.

A/n: btw Shirabu's blush is not because of feelings, it's just he hasn't met anyone new in ages so it's a different experience for him

Also I kinda make up plots as I go along. This is going to be long and the scene from the description won't happen till like chapter ten or after maybe

Also anyone else wanting an omelette now? Only me? Ok.
