A/n: I planned out most of the chapters, and wow it's going to be 30+ chapters long
Also um, I just kinda left this story for a while I'm sorry 😔😔
"Looks like we have a couple!" Tendou shouted as he entered the room. Shirabu rolled his eyes and pushed himself away from the table. That definitely wasn't a good moment ruined.
"Shut up." Was all he could say.
"Now now, have I ruined anything?" Tendou turned to Semi, who shook his head.
"No Tendou, you haven't missed anything." Semi lied a little bit, but that's because he didn't want Tendou up in his business.
Shirabu started to walk away and leave again, then Tendou said something that caught his attention.
"Leaving so soon Kenjirou? And here I was going to ask if you both wanted to go to the garden tonight."
"Garden? There's no gardens in this lab." Shirabu admitted he was curious, he hadn't heard of this before. Surely if there was a garden in the lab his dad must of told him about it?
"That's what you think, but you're oh so wrong!" Tendou chuckled, then continued. "They never told you about it for whatever reason, so if you wanna find out if I'm lying come round to my room tonight! Bring Semi too!"
"I'll be along regardless as I've never been before." Semi replied.
All of them agreed and with that, Shirabu finally left the room. Semi followed closely behind as to not get lost.
He settled back down in his room, and picked out one of his medical books from his shelf. It was one of the only things he actually liked to do, reading cured his boredom in some ways.
"Why are you staring Semi, go explore the lab or something." He said with the most deadpan expression ever.
"But I wanna hang with you. you seem interesting."
"Interesting? I'm a somewhat normal teenager."
An awkward silence fell. Somewhat normal, yeah right. Living out all of your years in a lab and never come into contact with another human being until now.
Somewhat normal
Semi stayed there for a few more seconds, then left Shirabu in piece. The shorter watched as he left the room, then took his focus off of the book.
"What is that kids problem? He just did this like it's nothing." Glancing around the room, he got up and put the book away. "I can admit he's way different than Tendou. So that's nice, I guess."
Shirabu left his room, bored again but this time he was looking for the entrance to this 'garden' he looked all around the lab, in all of the rooms, and the only place he didn't check was the main office, or reception. He wasn't allowed in there because he could 'leave very easily.' And his dad said there was nothing special.
He had looked in there quite a few times, and there really was nothing in there, but he still considered that it might be in there. Nevertheless, he gave up and headed back to his room.
Shirabu stared out the window. It was raining, and raining hard. He hadn't felt rain before, and he really wanted to.
Then he remembered the promise he made with semi. Semi was going to take him outside and let him see the world. Promises were dumb, but he couldn't help but trust Semi at this point. I mean, he seemed like a nice guy, and there wasn't anyone who had said something like that to Shirabu before.
Well, Tendou had joked about it before, but it never really went anywhere, and it was never sincere.
As the boy let his mind wonder, he never noticed his dad come in.
"If only..."
"If only what Kenjirou? Why do you look so sad?"
Shirabu turned around in shock. "D-dad! I never heard you enter um...what are you actually doing here? If you're-" he sat on the window sill, and stared his dad up and down.
"I came to ask you something actually." He went to sit on the bed. "How was Eita? Was he ok?"
His dad really came in to his room without knocking, sat on his bed, and looked like he was about to say something important, just to say that?
"He's...he's fine I guess. I see why Tendou is friends with him." Was Shirabu's response.
"Ah, so you're friends now?"
"You could say that. Anyway, get. Out. Knock on the damn door next time dad." He was annoyed again, and tried to rush his dad out of the room.
"I probably interrupted something, I'll get out if you wish."
When he left, Shirabu lay back onto his bed. His dad sure was annoying. As annoying as Tendou sometimes too. He finally then took the time to finish the sentence his dad rudely interrupted him.
"If only it wasn't like this. If only I could just leave with my own free will. I don't care what you think dad. I will leave with Semi."
He sighed. It was cheesy, but he had to say it.
"We made a promise after all."
He checked the time, he was supposed to meet in around three hours. So he ended up falling asleep.
——
A few hours later, Shirabu woke up again, and checked to see how long he had slept. Three hours, that was good enough. It was also nearing the time Tendou said to meet, so he prepared himself mentally.
How did the garden look? Why was he not allowed there? Heck why was it's existence hidden from him?
He could only find out some of that information. Tendou clearly hid some of that information. But there was one thing he knew that nobody else really did.
It was that he wasn't just a heartless being.
My writing just took a dip in quality I'm sorry
