--~Piglins~--
Piglins are a species of anthropomorphic pigs native to the Nether. They are very social, often living in groups of 2 to 9 members when found outside of Bastions. Inside of Bastions, their native strongholds that litter the Nether wastes, hundreds can be found living inside of them.
Piglins are one of the smartest and most developed species found in this Universe, speaking and writing in a sophisticated language and alphabet called Pórkiti. Though it is a language sporting very in-human vowel patterns, a player can learn this language.
Besides their advanced communication skills, Piglins also display the advanced ability to plan out hunts, ambushes, and attacks. Because of this, Piglins are some of, if not the most dangerous enemies found in the underworld, ambushing the player and attacking them with golden swords and crossbows. However, if you wish to walk safely in the Nether without the fear of ambush, a solution is to simply wear a piece of gold armor, as this will neutralize all threats Piglins see towards the player.
It is a well-known fact that Piglins have an otherworldly obsession with gold. They will trade anything that happens to be on them for gold, and will also refrain from attacking players wearing gold. Because of their obsession, a system called "Piglin bartering" has developed between Piglins and players. Players will trade gold in exchange for items such as Obsidian, Nether bricks, Ender pearls, Soul Speed enchantment books, and Fire Resistance potions. Due to the fact that this system is very useful in yielding materials, Speedrunners often focus much of their run on this fact, aiming for the Ender Pearl trade.
Strengths:
-Piglins have strength in numbers. If a Piglin is not killed in one hit, the surrounding Piglins will rush to their injured brethren to defend them, swarming and overwhelming the attacker.
- Piglins are very rich. Not only carrying golden (sometimes enchanted) swords and crossbows, piglins will sometimes be seen wearing golden armor, building up their resistance.
- Advanced hearing & smell. Because they are pigs, Piglins have a hearing sense better than that of normal humans. They also have a better smell, because they are pigs, which have famously great noses.
- Strength. Piglins tend to be stronger than regular, especially human players. This especially applies to Piglin Brutes, which are a larger and even stronger variant of their fellow piglins. They are often seen carrying a golden axe and are much easier to be aggroed. These Piglins can only be found inside Bastions.
Weaknesses:
-Fire. Despite Piglins existing in the Nether, they have not evolved to be immune to fire like most other Nether dwelling mobs. They will actively avoid fire and lava just like any other sentient non-fire-resistant creature.
- Kinemortophobia. Piglins are very nervous and wary of their Zombified Piglin counterparts, and will actively avoid them as much as possible. Though these Zombie Piglin sport no threat to the Piglins, Piglins will do anything to stay away from them and will go as far as to give up chasing players they are aggroed to if the player strays too close to a large group of Zombie Piglins.
- Bad Eyesight. Just like pigs found in the overworld, Piglins don't have the best eyesight, often relying on their hearing and smell to make up for that loss. This can sometimes cause Piglins that shoot crossbows to sometimes be inaccurate if the target is moving fast through thicker terrain.
