"Make sure you always keep your knife ready. If someone comes up or a few walkers appear you need to be ready," I walked behind the row of juniors who were learning melee.
They were actually doing really well for beginners. Well, not really beginners at knifing or shooting. We lived in an area full of hunters, so most of these kids already knew how to work a weapon. But, this was completely different, this wasn't just to catch food. This was the door to life or death.
I wondered where that boy from yesterday was; if he left to find his family or not. I didn't see him in the training area, unless he wasn't paying attention and went with the seniors. But, he would probably be noticeable... the seniors were very tall compared to juniors. But it didn't matter, as long as he was training.
I stopped walking when I saw a girl acting weird at the end of the row. I watched her without saying or doing anything, just to see what she was up to. She was sweaty, supposably from working hard in the musky loft of the gym. Her black hair was back in a ponytail and she was wearing a white teeshirt. She wiped her forehead and brought back up her knife. It was sharpened to be razor thin. I stared wide eyed as she raised it, with the sunlight shining off of it, and chopped the mannequin's head off. Clean off. With a knife the size of a pencil.
I walked over and touched her shoulder, she spun around with the knife at my throat, and held it there. See, I would be fine if she noticed it was me and sheathed it, but this was different. She knew who I was, but here we were, thirty seconds later, a knife at my throat. The kids in the row beside her had stopped and drew their knives towards her.
"Let her go," one said, pushing his blade closer to her side.
"Drop your knife," a girl said as she brought her knife up to the girl's temple.
The other kids, about ten more, surrounded her on all sides. They were protecting me. I stood there, not moving anything but my eyes. She started to lower her blade, and so did my friends. She then looked up at me and smirked, drawing back up her knife and slashing my shirt open, drawing blood from my chest.
I fell to the ground holding my chest in pain as four kids came to my assistance and the rest crowded in on the girl, shouting harsh and harmful words. My hands were covered in a red, warm, gooey substance. My blood. I didn't care as the kids ripped off my shirt. The knife had cut through my bra, so they had to remove that too. I didn't care. They worked quickly, shouting orders over the fighting in the background. I was losing consciousness from the loss of blood and the pain. In a moment, I saw the boy from yesterday.
His hair was black and swept to the side of his face. His eyes were a bright green, and he was very attractive. I smiled slightly, and slipped into the darkness.

I woke up in a strange room, one I've never seen before. The curtains were shut, and there were candles lit around the room. My vision was blurry, and there was a ringing in my ears. A sharp pain stabbed at my abdomen, and it sent pangs of unbearable pain up through my spine and into my head. I seemed to have lost consciousness and... well... that's all I really knew. I had no idea what time of day it was, what day it was, if this was all a dream, or if I was just plain mad. This couldn't be a dream. It just couldn't. I felt this. This hurt me.
Once I gave up or trying to find these questions out, I decided to look around the room at where I was at. I slowly turned my head to see drakes like up in four rows, six desks each. There was a long bookshelf in the back of the room, and a blanket was laying on the top of it. There were at least ten candles around the room, dimly illuminating the room. The door's small rectangular window had a black sheet of paper over it, supposably for privacy.
