I woke up to what sounded like a bomb going off. I quickly felt around, looking for Daryl. He was still asleep, and I was surprised, whatever that noise was probably woke the entire school. I slowly stood up and got dressed, then walked out to the rotunda to see a dim light coming from the windows. Daylight. I slowly made my way to the door and opened it, just to slam it shut again. It was pouring down rain.

I pushed my hair back and walked around the Rotunda, around and around in circles. When I got bored of that, I quietly went back into our room, grabbed my book, and went back into the library. I sat in my favorite chair and got comfortable, opened my book, and started to read.

"Carson leaned over and kissed Lila gently on the lips, slowly pushing her back and performing various sex acts on her. This would be their last night together before they ended their lives..."

I turned the page as another loud bang went off. I jumped and ended up throwing my book in the process, losing my page. "Dammit! Something always has to fucking ruin a good moment!" I growled to myself and retrieved my book, skimming through the pages as the thunder rumbled off into the distance. I huffed and sat back down in my chair, and continued to read.

"After an hour of sexual pleasure, they both quietly snuck out of the house and dashed, hand in hand, to the lake. Kissing each other farewell until the other side, they jumped into the icy water. They were later found by a fisherman and the mother was outraged that Lila would run off with a monster, let alone run off by killing herself with him..."

Julie opened the door and ran towards me happily, "Ash! Guess what!"

I rolled my eyes and looked up, putting my book down semi-angrily, "What, Julie?"

"I just saw Daryl in the art room drawing beautifully. He has an amazing hand at drawing!"

I nodded absentmindedly, "What was he drawing?"

"I think," she started, putting her finger to her temple, "I think it was a flower, a rose maybe. It had elegant writing at the bottom of it. I didn't really get to see that."

Hmm, I wonder what he was up to, "Did you go to the office yet today, Julie?"

"Yea, why?" She said, sitting down in a chair across from me.

"What time is it?"

She looked confused, then said, "Well when I was down there, which was about twenty minutes ago, it was seven thirty. So it's seven fifty. Why?"

I shrugged, "Just wondering. I woke up at the big bang if thunder. And Daryl wasn't up yet."

She smiled at the sound of his name, "Oh yes, Daryl. He's quite a hunk. I might try to get with him."

What? But he was dating me! "Uh, Julie," I started slowly, "I'm dating Daryl."

"No way. I don't believe that. When was this?"

"As of yesterday."

She stood abruptly and started for the door, "Well I like him, so I can't promise I won't show it." With that, she slammed the door behind her.

Wow, drama queen much? And no matter, Daryl was loyal enough. I wasn't worried. I set my book on the table and walked out the door and into the Rotunda. I wanted to go see Daryl. I walked quietly down the hall in my bare feet. The tiles were cold against them. I shivered as I rounded the corner to see Julie, with her hand on Daryl's shoulder, talking and laughing with him while he drew. Anger boiled inside of me as I watched from behind the wall.

She had shifted closer to him, practically leaning on him. I could feel my face getting redder, as she hopped up and sat on the table, smiling like a girl would when they're flirting. She sat there for awhile, saying inaudible words. Then, she pushed it, she scooted over in front of him, wrapped her arms and legs around him, and smiled uncontrollably. She was going to kiss him.
