I turned around and gently pushed the door open. The door creaked open, drawing out a long screeching noise. I winced, as my ears were sensitive to the noise. A woman stood in my room. As she turned around, she revealed her appearance. She was short and had a look on her face as if she hadn't expected to see me, despite her knocking. She had curly black hair that crept down her shoulders and was unkempt as if it had a mind of its own. Like me, she also wore a blue medical gown and was connected to an IV which she seemed to have wheeled along with her.

"I'm sorry... I think I'm in the wrong room. I'm just looking for my boyfriend, Ethan." She said. Why would she come just barging into people's rooms if she's looking for her boyfriend?

"So you decided to come barging into my room? Why would he be here of all places?" I said. That was the first time I heard my own voice. At least the first time that I can remember. My voice sounded deep and gravelly. It almost hurt just to talk. She seemed to be embarrassed after I asked her that, and maybe even a little bit sad.

"I- I don't know. If I'm being perfectly honest I don't even know how I got here, or what happened to me. I just woke up and left my bed. All that I know is that I need to find my boyfriend." The way she said it made me feel a bit bad for her. Maybe because I don't remember anything, either. I sighed.

"Okay... I can help you. Do you know anything about him? Do you remember where you saw him last or anything?" I asked.

"I don't remember exactly what he looks like, but I know that his name is Ethan Whitefield, and he lives on 587 Pine Hill Avenue." Pine Hill Avenue... It sounds familiar. Suddenly I started to remember something. I remembered seeing the Pine Hill Avenue street sign and then looking over at the road to see a girl in the middle of it. I couldn't see her face because her back was turned towards me. It was dark and raining. Suddenly, a light came barrelling down the road towards the girl. That was all that I could remember. Maybe I should go with this girl there, not only will I be able to help her, I might be able to recover some of my own memories.

"Okay... I think I can take you there." I said. She smiled, looking hopeful.

"Thank you so much. I can't thank you enough." She said, her voice cracking almost as if she were about to start crying, here and now. "My name is Hailey, by the way."
