Rushing up the stairs, Doyoung held his breath. Chenle panicking was a very bad sign. The boy only panics when something goes wrong to which this would be the worst time to notify.
He was about to open the door when the door was opened from inside, Kun heaving heavily. "We need to go to the hospital for this. We don't have the best equipment"
"We can't do that. We are at a risk of getting exposed" "Would rather be exposed or have our one sister die when we could've saved her?" "Taeyong, calm down. I'll handle her administrations. Yuta, get the car ready. Someone help her to the car"
"Johnny hyung, take this" Sungchan grabbed Johnnny's arm, handing a file. Johnny took it, not forgetting to question what was inside. "Just hand this during the register and strictly, no one should visit her anytime during her hospitalization. Please, this needs to be followed. No questions asked, go. Noona should be the only one to answer any questions from here"
Johnny was about to ask when Lucas emerged from the room, Yuna on his back. He sighed before running down to the car with Lucas as Yuta revved the engine. Setting Yuna properly in the back seat, avoiding to worsen her injuries. As soon as she was placed, Yuta sped off to the nearest hospital, Lucas keeping her body and checking on her pulse every second.
Her pulse was slow but it was there, proving her life was nipping away every second, every moment. Her breaths were low, barely filling her lungs with the very air it needed most at the moment.
"We're almost there. I'm dropping you two at the emergency area. Be fast. She's our sister"
Yuta said, turning the corners, entering the hospital area. Slowing down at the emergency entrance, the car came to a stop. Johnny got off, assisting Lucas in carrying Yuna from the back seat. Walking inside with them, the workers gasped, jaws falling as they brought in a stretcher to place Yuna.
"What happened to this young woman?" "I will explain but please help her" "Please follow me to the counters, sir. The doctors will assist her from here" "Go John, I'll stay here"
Johnny nodded, following the nurse to a counter to register her as a patient. The nurse signalled him to sit down as he started the desk computers. The nurse pushed a piece of paper for Johnny to fill-in. Johnny shook his head, hanfing the nurse the file Sungchan has gave him, not checking what was inside.
The nurse looked at him cynically before taking the file out of his hands, opening it, slowly revealing the documents, reading through the information. The nurse gasped, confusing Johnny on what the document could probably contain. The nurse looked up at Johnny. "Are you sure about this?"
Johnny thought to himself what it could possibly be, gulping in nervousness. Deciding to trust Sungchan, he spoke his mind. "Yes, I'm sure"
"We will proceed with Ms.Jung's surgery then" "Wait, what surgery?" "Uhh.. her brain surgery, sir. The one she was supposed to take a few months back? We had recommended it to her brother. Seeing as you hold this document, you must know him"
That was when everything came crashing down on him. The siblings were hiding something. He took back the document, reading the name of whom had given the permission as Sungchan was not a legal adult yet.
'Misako Hikari' The name read. It came across unfamiliar until it dawned him as to why Shotaro hadn't joined at the same time as Sungchan's. He went to Japan to get someone to sign it.
He gave back the document, nodding to himself, trying to reassure himself that everything would be fine. "Please, proceed with the surgery. Me and my friend will go now"
Johnny left the seat, walking to where Lucas was. He signalled to Lucas from afar to leave as Lucas nodded, heading towards him. Exiting the emergency area, they walked into the parking lot until they found Yuta's car.
"They're here. We're coming back to HQ" Yuta said before ending his call, Johnny in shotgun as Lucas sat on the seat behind.
"So how long is she going to stay at the hospital? I'm sure that file had some bribe to get the best doctors, right?" Yuta asked, starting the engine as they drove back to HQ. He watched as Johnny sigh heavily, feeling there was something more than what he thought.
"Later. At the HQ. I need to think of ways to get it out of them" Johnny said distressed, closing his eyes shut.
Yuta glanced through the mirror, looking at Lucas, who was just as confused. Noticing it, Lucas shrugged before looking out of the window, wondering why Johnny looked beaten up.
Arriving back at HQ, Johnny exited the car before Yuta and Lucas had the chance to stop him. "Johnny, slow down. Don't do anything impulsive"
He wasn't listening them. Entering the living room, eyes roaming as he found everyone there before his eyes landed on Sungchan and Shotaro. The two, noticing his eyes diverted their looks, obviously looking nervous.
Johnny walked to the two before pulling them in a hug. The action came as a shock for the two, thinking he was going to be mad if he had found out. The other members were confused but let Johnny continue his actions. Releasing them, Johnny backed away a bit before opening his mouth.
"Why didn't you tell us? Even the slightest hints" Johnny asked, voice desperate to know the reason, leading to more confusion to the members. Doyoung got up, sitting next to Johnny to ask. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"She didn't want anyone to know. She didn't want to burden anyone. I tried telling her that it would be more of a problem if she continued to delay it but..but she was stubborn" "What are you talking about, Sungchan?" "We're talking about her surgery, Doyoung. About your girlfriend's brain surgery. And before you ask, it wasn't me that gave the permission. It was someone named Misako Hikari"
Doyoung fell back on his bottom. Ten bolted up from his seat, rushing to Shotaro. "Is that why you said you had business in Japan? You said you were trying to find your family"
"I did. She's my mom. Yes, I searched for my own family just so that someone would sign the documents for her surgery" Shotaro answered, eyes wavering. He was indeed upset at himself for this.
"I know we were wrong for keeping it but she only wanted the surgery if she was at the brink of death" Sungchan answered, tears now flowing down his cheeks, hating his sister's fate.
Doyoung got up suddenly, walking up the stairs into his room, not forgetting to slam the door. Only one thing was on his mind.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
