Katherine Fontaine bounced excitedly from one foot to the other, it was her first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hearing stories from her two older siblings about how much fun they have had at school, Katherine was excited to create fun stories of her own.

Her older brother Edmund was in his last year at Hogwarts as a Ravenclaw. Edmund was head boy this year, which he took extreme pride in as well as being team captain of their quidditch team. Katherine's sister Margaret was a year younger than Edmund and was just as smart as him. Margaret was also a Ravenclaw. She was focused solely on making sure her grades stayed perfect so she could glide easily into seventh year next term. The Fontaines were known to typically be Ravenclaws. Katherine hoped she was a Ravenclaw like her siblings but had told herself that even if she wasn't she'd take Hufflepuff or Gryffindor over Slytherin any day.

"Goodness sakes Kitty if you don't stop bouncing around we'll never make it to the train." Giggled Margaret outstretching her hand to Katherine.

"Sorry, Peggy I'm just excited!" Katherine said, grabbing ahold of her sister's outstretched hand.

Edmund just laughed and grabbed her other hand as the children and their parents paused between platforms 9 and 10. Each child had their own trolley. On Katherine's trolley sat a large mahogany trunk and a brass cage containing her brown tawny owl Theia. Her siblings' trolleys contained their similar-looking trunks, except neither of the other siblings had owls. Margaret did have her orange tabby cat Cinnamon, but he would ride with Peggy in her compartment. Approaching the barrier all the excitement within Katherine died down to nervousness. After they passed through the barrier she would officially board the Hogwarts Express. Her grip tightened on her siblings' hands.

As if reading her thoughts, the older Fontaines shared a knowing look at each other. Both had experienced the same feelings their first time going to school.

"Why don't I go through the barrier with you Kitty-Kat." Edmund offered.

In response, the young girl nodded her head. Margaret took that as her cue to go to her cart and go through. Their mother and father followed her, pushing Edmund's cart through. Edmund got behind Katherine and placed his hands over hers on the cart, almost as though he were teaching her how to ride a bike.

"Alrighty, kiddo on three. One. Two. Three. Go!" Edmund coached.

And just like that, the two siblings appeared onto Platform 9 ¾.

Katherine squealed and turned around to hug her brother tightly.

"Thank you, Eddy! I just got a little nervous." Katherine said cheerfully.

"Anytime kiddo. Now let's get everything loaded up and say bye to mum and dad."

After making sure everyone's things were aboard the train. The older Fontaine's said goodbye and boarded, giving their youngest sibling a little bit of privacy to say goodbye to their parents.

"Okay dear, are you ready to go?" Georgianna asked her youngest daughter. Her eyes were a bit moist from the tears she was holding back.

Katherine nodded enthusiastically, but then looked at her feet.

Noticing this her husband asked, "What's bothering you kiddo?"

"What if I'm not a Ravenclaw like the rest of the Fontaines?"

Georgianna smiled knowingly at her daughter and answered,

"Then you might be like me and be a Hufflepuff, but no matter what we'll still love you, sweetheart."
