Chapter 3: Halloween Shenanigans

As school continued on Katherine became good friends with the twins, and when she wasn't spending time with Fred and George she spent time studying with Hermione.

The morning after the twins asked her to join their escapades, Hermione questioned her pretty thoroughly about where she'd been and that she came in later than usual that night. Not wanting to fully lie to the brilliant girl, Kathy just told her the twins asked her to hang out. Hermione thought it over and told Katherine to be careful,

"They get into quite a bit of trouble Katherine, it'd be a pity for your career to go down the loo because of those two," Hermione said.

"No worries 'Mione, I told them academics come first." Katherine smiled.

And while the trio got into trouble, it seemed Harry was getting into similar trouble, apparently, the night she'd hung out with the twins, Malfoy had challenged Harry to a midnight duel, which he never arrived at. Harry nearly got caught by filch, and while trying to hide he discovered a three-headed dog that was guarding a trap door of sorts.

Other than that not much was going on. Malfoy still called her Fontaine, which Katherine preferred. Only her friends got to call her Kathy. Malfoy was certainly not a friend. As promised Kathy wrote to her mother about the incident. About two days after she sent the letter, Theia dropped off a letter to Katherine. This time it was in her father's pen. Oh, no he's probably had to deal with Mr. Malfoly since Draco's such a tattletale. Slowly Katherine opened the letter dreading her father's response.

Dear Kitten,

Your mother and I received your letter, might I just say I'm proud you don't tolerate that boy's behavior. He's too much like his father, arrogant, and thinks the world belongs to him. I'm glad you haven't stooped to his level. Your mother wishes you had kept your mouth shut, but I told her it's better you stand up to him.

Speaking of which Peggy wrote you just found out of the boy's fascination with you. Your mother was humored you never knew, I must say I was as well. Honestly, though we're proud of you Kitten.

I hope your classes are going well, and that you're making friends. Edmund says he catches you with the Weasley's and Harry Potter quite often. He's worried about your friendship with the twins, he wrote that they are quite the pranksters. I will say this if you get in trouble for a prank I think your mother will be more upset about it than I. Honestly Kitten, as long as your grades are well, a few pranks won't hurt anyone. Don't tell your mother I said that. We miss you Kitty-Kat, we'll see you at Christmas.

After getting the green-light from her father, Kathy pulled quite a few pranks with Fred and George. Some were a bit more brilliant than others, but her favorite was a prank they pulled on Malfoy and his posse. The twins had given Kathy a few dung bombs to place where each of them sat in Defense Against the Dark Arts. But the dung bombs were enchanted to turn their green robes red. Needless to say, they did not enjoy that prank at all and were more upset Quirrell didn't punish anyone for it.

Tonight was Halloween, the twins and Katherine had some pranks planned after Kathy's last class. She was in Charms with Professor Flitwick, seated next to Harry. Ron and Hermione sat together off to Harry's right. We were learning the levitation spell Wingardium Leviosa. Each of us had a feather in front of us we had to levitate.
