I feel like the day has been such a drag, each class has more interaction with Humans then the last. It's exhausting trying to seem like I don't want to gag at each touch or conversation I have with them.
"Steel are you even listing?" I'm brought out of my thoughts as Geo waves his hand in front of my face.
"I was lost in thought, what do you say?" Geo shakes his head at me.
"I was saying don't you think the teachers and Humans are being weird today?"
Weird? There are always weird "what do you mean weird?" Geo points behind me.
"Like the Humans have been death glaring at us since this morning and they teachers have been having a lot of private meets in Ms. Red office," huh, I honestly haven't noticed it's been feeling the same to me but it's not like I don't get daily glares from them.
Now the teachers going into Ms. Red's office is unusual "how do you know they're going to her?" Teachers usually stay in their classrooms or their lounge.
"Because Sunny and I have been keeping count of all the teachers going in and out after he overheard Mr. Stoks talking about the pond where the party happened."
That's trouble, I wonder if they found out about the party and are trying to figure out how to punish a good amount of the students for it. "Keep me updated," Geo nods his hand and turns back to the teacher going on about spells and magic. This class wasn't all too bad even if I don't really have magic. It's quite interesting learning.
"Hey," a tap on my back makes me turn around to a girl trying to get my attention. "I'm Cassidy, but everyone just calls me Casey. What's your name?" I raise my eyebrow at the girl.
"It's Steel," Cassidy gives me a smile and leans forward a bit. I don't feel like getting all in with the formal introduction. It's getting quite tiring.
"Any chance you can explain to me what Ms. Luca is talking about? I don't want to make a fool out of myself asking in front of the class." I quickly take a glance at the board seeing Ms. Luca writing on the board on the different types of magic and barriers.
"What do you need help with?" Cassidy lets out a small laugh and turns her note book so I can see her notes. I scan the page seeing that she actually has been listening to the lesson.
"I got lost on the Light barriers, are they like the Fey?" I shake my head no. The Fey lesson my mother gave me was one of the few that stayed inside my head.
"The Fey is a general term for the fairies or other folks in that realm. The Light barriers are different, they are like guardians for folks that magic comes from a light source." I watch the girl scribble every word I say. The more I look at the girl I can't tell if she is a Divine or Human, it's quite unnerving.
"If you don't mind me asking, are you Divine or Human?" Cassidy smiles at me and tilts her head pushing short blonde hair behind her ear showing the small pointed ears. "I'm Elfish, but my ears aren't as developed as everyone else is."
I think I see it, when I look in her eyes. I've only seen Elves with eyes like hers, the big doe eyes. her hair is another story... it's extremely short, Elf's don't cut their hair unless they turn Dark. Nothing about her screams Dark, the girl screams innocent more than Silva does and that says a lot.
"So, Mr. Snowhite care to spill what folk you are?" I shake my head at her. I put my hand out for her to shake.
"Steel Blackstone, son of Forge," she raises her eyebrow at me and wraps her small delicate hand in mine.
"Blackstone? Huh, so are you one of the twins I've been hearing so much about?" I know people talk behind our backs but I doubt it's anything good.
