Someone placing a hand on my shoulder snapped me out of my hellish thoughts,looking over I saw it was Jasper.
I had been standing at the bottom of the stairs for god knows how long,too scared to go outside and meet my supposed mates.
"You doin okay there darlin? I can feel how much you're panicking right now. You don't have to be scared of them. They couldn't hurt you even if they wanted to." I felt his gift wash over me but the thoughts still clouded my mind.
"What if...what if Alice is wrong and their not my ...mates. O-Or what if they don't want me..?" His eyes softened. "Darlin their gonna love you,do you wanna know why?" He asked,smiling softly when I nodded.
"Because you are smart,beautiful,and the most kindhearted person I know.And if they don't love you then they don't deserve you.You understand Mariana?"
Feeling tears prick my eyes I swallowed down any dark thoughts I had and smiled for the first time since our walk in the woods.
"Thank you Jasper." He smiled and linked our arms together. "Of course,You're apart of this family wether you like it or not,and family always sticks together."
I could tell by the look in his eyes that he meant every word of it.
He patted my hand as he led us to the front door,before he opened it he gave me a charming smile."Deep breath darlin." He said,waiting for me to do so.
Taking a breath I nodded,I felt it rip from my lungs when he swung open the door.

It was growing tense between Rosalie and Caius,it was clear that she was incredibly protective of our mate.
