Pine and Cinnamon

Looking over myself in the mirror I couldn't help but think it was all too much,don't get me wrong I looked gorgeous.

But somewhere deep inside the voice that Luis had sewn into my mind told me I wasn't worth it..that this was all some sick game...that I shouldn't get my hopes up..

But that voice was soon broken By Alice's cheerful face appearing beside me as she rested her chin on my shoulder,"You look stunning! Their jaws are going to hit the floor!" I couldn't help but to smile,even on my darkest of days she always seemed to bring me back to the light. "Don't you think it's too much for just a simple dinner?" She raised a brow,"Do you think anything with the volturi is simple?" Thinking about it I sighed,"No,you've got a point..." looking down my chin was quickly caught and tilted back up,"You are beautiful,kind,generous,Smart,and deserving Mari. Don't ever forget that okay?"

Feeling tears prick my eyes all I could do was nod,I didn't trust my voice not to crack.She smiled,"Now let's go knock them dead." I giggled as she dragged me out of the bathroom. Jane and Alec looked at me with bright smiles,"You look beautiful my q-Mariana."  Alec caught himself after Jane elbowed him in the side,earning a glare from her twin. "He is right,You look amazing." Jane said ignoring Alecs childishness. "Thank you both." I said,they froze when I gently kissed both of their foreheads. "Shall we go join the Kings?" They were still frozen in shock by the time Alice and I left the room. They snapped out of their haze and quickly sped after us.

"How much longer shall we wait before-Ow! Brother will you stop that!" I heard Caius's voice echo followed by a Loud crack as we descended the stairs,it must have been Marcus who hit him since his laughter followed.

Passing the wall I saw them all standing around the living room,the second they heard me approaching their red eyes quickly found mine.

Their eyes widened into a look I could only describe as awe,it made my cheeks heat up at the burning of their gaze.

Standing awkwardly waiting for them to snap back to reality(Oop there goes gravity) I leaned over to Jane and whispered,"Is something on my face?" She went to answer when Aro cleared his throat,but only after Caius nudged him.

"You look...absolutely Devine cara Mia. Like a goddess walking amongst us." He slowly approached me and held out his hand,once I gave him my own he guided me over to Caius and Marcus. "Mariana if I had a beating heart I swear you'd stop it,never in all my years have I seen someone so enchanting. It is an honor to call you mine." Caius cooed sweetly,I went to look down in embarrassment only for him to catch my chin.He tilted my face up so that his eyes stared deep into my own,he smirked when he heard my heart rate speed up.

"Enough Brother,you'll break her." Marcus teased before pulling me away from Caius who rolled his eyes,"It's not my fault she's so easy to fluster." He said with playful adoration clear in his tone.

Marcus smirked and rubbed his thumb across my cheek,his eyes soft and loving as he looked over my features. Every freckle,scar,and Mark told a story and he was eager to learn.

"Oh little one,I fall more and more addicted to your Beauty the more I look at you." Biting my lip I saw his eyes darken a bit as he watched the action closely. "Now now Marcus,we'll have plenty of time to woo her more once we get her something to eat. We'll be late for our reservation." Aro reminded earning a confused look from me,"Where are we going?"

He smirked down at me,"That is a surprise my goddess,just know we are going to spoil you for our first date. It's so very exciting!" He clapped his hands together and a darker skinned man I did not recognize appeared,Alice seemed a bit nervous at his appearance but forced a smile when she saw me look over.

"The car is ready Master." The man said stoically,"Thank you,Mariana Meet Santiago he will be your personal guard along with the rest of the elite guard." Caius stated wrapping an arm around my waist and placing a protective hand over my stomach,he felt his tension melt as the faint heartbeat vibrated against his hand.

"It is an honor to make your acquaintance,My Queen." Santiago said bowing respectfully,it would take me a while to get used to all the bowing. "It is nice to meet you as well Santiago,I look forward to getting to know you." His hard expression melted to a small smirk at the sight of my genuine smile. "As do I."

Offering Alice a quick hug she made me promise to give her and the girls all the juicy details later.Santiago led me and the kings outside to a black stagecoach,a very official car that I shouldn't have been surprised about. I wasn't quite sure what I was expecting them to drive,though the thought of them in a truck like Bella's was quite the humorous thought.

Sitting inside I was soon sandwiched between Aro and Marcus,Caius waisted no time in pulling me on his lap. All while Jane and Alec slipped into the seat across from us,I assumed Santiago was the one driving.

I felt so safe in this moment,safer then I ever have in my life..No worries,no fears..Just me,my baby,and my mates in our own little world. Leaning back into Caius I could practically feel him purring like a cat into my ear,Marcus and Aro both held onto my hands and I could see them watching me with such love and worship out of the corner of my eye.

It was so soothing...

Shutting my eyes I didn't even notice when I fell asleep.

(Caius POV)

Her breathing changed and her heartbeat slowed,it was only when I felt her head fall against my chest that I realized she had fallen asleep. "She is simply breathtaking even in slumber." Marcus spoke quietly in Greek,Aro hummed in agreement."How did we become so lucky brothers,to earn such a kindhearted goddess as a mate?" I huffed a light chuckle,"I'm not sure but I thank the gods for it."

Aro glanced over at Jane and Alec who were watching my mate with soft smiles,I had never seen them make any expression besides hatred,indifference,and cruel amusement.It piqued Aro's interest as well it seemed as he quickly pulled off his glove and offered it to Jane who was eager to take it,I watched curiously as his eyes glazed over.

"She seems to have won the hearts of the twins as well brothers,she is a magnet of adoration it appears." Aro said releasing Janes hand and pulling his glove back on. "I don't find that hard to believe,It would be hard to dislike such a gentle creature. Despite all the hardships she has been through in the last week alone she has welcomed us with open arms." I placed a kiss to her temple,feeling myself getting lost in her scent. She smelled of pine and cinnamon,such warm embracing scents that felt like home.

"Alas...That is just what worries me Brother,her heart is so welcoming that it leaves her vulnerable. It gives an opening to those who wish her harm.." Marcus stated sadly,looking over a bruise that i was just now noticing on her left shoulder.

It was the shape of a hand print.
