Chapter 28: Jay's Wise Words

Ever since Onika showed up to Lotus' house to ask Beyoncé what she wanted her to do, she'd been putting in man hours just to get Beyoncé to pay attention to her. She'd been sending her text messages every single morning telling her how sorry she was, she sent her various items to wherever she was, and whatever work Beyoncé had to be done, she was doing it. It was like Onika was her own personal slave, and though she enjoyed the treatment, Beyoncé just wanted to know that Onika was sincere.

Sometimes though, Beyoncé got into a mood where she hated Onika and she wanted her to feel exactly what she felt. So when she called in those times of her feeling that way, she'd have Lotus answer her phone, or even Megan. She knew exactly what it did to Onika's pride since she couldn't say anything about it, but she did it anyway. Every time it was like a dagger in Onika's heart, but again she couldn't say a word.

Beyoncé was working on forgiving her on her own, if Onika was in her space while trying to forgive, she would despise her more and more by the day. It was a lot of heartbreak for her to take on, and she didn't think she would take Onika back, but after a conversation with Jay of all people, she saw that it was possible if they worked at it.

"I'm not gonna lie to you bro.. I don't think you should let this be the end of your marriage. I still think it's you and her end game." Jay said.

Bey looked over at him, pausing the game. "Bro what?"

"I'm just saying, there's so much that went into y'all relationship in the first place, I don't think this should be the end of it. Y'all got 3 beautiful kids together, and no I'm not saying stay for them but I know you still love her, and bro sometimes when she comes over here you look at her like she didn't even do anything."

"But she did, and that's the bottom line."

"But she's a better person than that, and you know it. She's trying, just like you were. All the miscommunication in your relationship is forcing these fucked up things to happen. First it was you going to New York without telling her, then it was you with Lauren and you not telling her 'cause you were scared, then it was you having a kid with Lotus and you not telling her because you wanted to have everything sorted out, and now it's her cheating."

"Okay, but what are you saying Jay?"

"I'm saying y'all doing shit to get each other's attention when you already got it bro. You ultimately want her to see that she has a family at home and although she loves her job, she needs to be present in her home life, with her children, and her wife. She wanted to be able to stay away from you longer than she actually was able to, leading her to do what she did. She was feeling a way, and instead of communicating about it, she cheated."

"Bruh why you don't got a girl again?" She turned to him, and he shrugged his shoulders.

"I got my fucked up ways. But I'm telling you, don't throw your marriage down the drain because of that. If y'all gotta go to counseling or something, do it 'cause y'all are made for each other."

"Sure."

"Facts. She didn't actively go out and search for a nigga to cheat with. She was hurt, and confused, and didn't know what she was feeling."

"She could've been an adult about the shit though Jay!"

"And you could've been an adult about a lot of the shit you did to her. You can't use that excuse. She put up with a lot of shit. Just because she did shit don't excuse what you did."
