Chapter 2: No excuses

I came back for 2021 as I have been tryin to live, especially after my finals. So sorry. But hey, here's a chapter! I only failed 1 class which was gym class, the final was hard.

Lumine's P.O.V~

Kody was staring at me while I was eating, I felt like he wanted to say something but he just couldn't or wouldn't. I didn't want to bother myself about it but curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. "What's on your m-ind?" He seemed surprised but thought about it carefully and calculated everything. "You are a good person?" It came out more as a question (I think?) "You're not a bad person either?" I shot it back at him and I caught Kody off-guard

I laughed and smiled trying to ease the aura of uncertainty off us and he gave what looked like a smile. "You're not bad." He was obviously struggling with these words but I smiled and blushed at his comment. "You're not bad.... sometimes." His reaction was priceless as he felt demolished. "Rude." I just stuck out my tongue in a teasing matter. It felt nice to have casual banter wihout feeling awkward or a mess of feels. I looked at the say and realized it was time for my sparring match.

"S-shoot!" I put on my shoes and almost ran out the door. Kody grabbed me and held me back. "What's wrong!" "SPARRING!" I yelled as I finally got to go out. I turned into my small wolf form and ran faster than ever. I got to the sparring pit in a couple minutes and made it in time.

Kody's P.O.V~
When I saw Lumine run out, I went out too. I've never seen him fight so it piqued my interest. Getting to the grounds by walking, I saw the small crowd forming since I was early. Lumine stood there with another kid, he was taller and bigger than Lumine.

"ALRIGHT KIDS! STANCES READY!" Our sparring teacher Ms. Sherry yelled. "Lumine, please use your actual form." "His actual form?" "Yeah right." "I highly doubt he's a fighter." "He's too small." I could hear all the whispers as Lumine tucked back but I could see him hesitate. "Points deducted Lumine." Ms. Sherry said as she sighed as the barrier of magic went up. "3...2...1.... GO!" Lumine quickly dodged an attack at the first second as the other smashed into the magic barrier encircling them.

I could hear everyone going crazy for a simple mistake. "MOTHERFUCKER." The other wolf lunged and grabbed Lumine by the neck and biting hard. "Lumine?!" I recoiled back as he went limp. Sherry was about to blow the whistle when Lumine started struggling against him and kicked him in the throat.

Lumine's P.O.V~
One thing I hated about sparring is the attention. I knew playing dead drew more attention than ever so I finally got away. After kicking the other in the throat, I bit his leg and threw him over me and smashed him into the barrier. My adrenaline kicked in as I ran and pounced on him. Grabbing him by the neck and put more force to slam him again. His body hit the barrier again with a loud THUD.  Ms.Sherry quickly blew the whistle and the barriers went down. "ACK!" She grabbed me and lifted me up. "HERE'S THE WINNER! LUMINE!" People were quiet and just clapped slowly and blinked.

I saw the healers going and picking the others body up onto a stretcher and quickly going away. Another came up to me and tended to my minor wounds around the neck. Calla came up to me with another named Elijah. "G-good job Lumine!" "Thanks Elijah!" I smiled back at him as he sat down with me. "You beat him up pretty bad." Calla stated while picking at her nails.

Kody's P.O.V~
I saw Lumine with Calla and Elijah, talking. I made up with them long ago but it still feels weird. I was more concerned about Lumine and his neck injury.  I was greeted but I just responded briefly. "Food?" I asked and all of them looked at me. "Thanks for lunch." Calla said as she patted me on the back. I rolled my eyes but I couldn't be mad. "What do you want to eat Lumine?"

This was short but at least I tried. I have been doing okay as I got a new addiction to feed on. I now own Betts fish and I like Mystery snails! I have 2 male bettas, Iris-Rose and Azure and a baby mystery snail named Quackers. I hope you guys liked this part I will update more. Happy Lunar New Year to anybody that celebrates it!
