A Fateful Encounter

Rin's POV

I couldn't believe my eyes, I was way too shocked to see her after all these years but I was scared too. What if once again, we just look at each other for some time and then just pass by each other like some strangers. After she left the school, we did meet again; be it, in some competition or in the local market though we never actually talked... just 'stare' and 'the end'. But for the last 6 years, we never saw each other again.

And now she was in front of my eyes, I wanted to wave at her so badly but I don't know why but my body wouldn't move just like back then. But she definitely had changed as I saw her waving at me and I wasn't any different from a dog with two-tails lol.

I waved back and started moving towards her and her along with a girl besides her, maybe it was her friend, started walking in my direction.

"Hey, long time no see", Akane greeted me.

"Hi! How have you been?", I asked.

"I'm good, what about you?... wait wait, first let us confirm if we are actually the person we are hoping each other to be, I mean, I'm Akane and you are-"

"Rin, and I'm doing great, thanks."

"So then, what are you doing here?"

"I just came to visit here with my parents and by the way, the same question applies to you"

"I live here now and wanted to watch a movie with a friend... Oh! that reminds me, Kaoru chan, I'm sorry for making you feel awkward, I literally had forgotten, meet Rin, we both used to be in the same school in class 1. You remember right? I told you"

She said the last line in a low voice though I could hear it clearly. I seriously don't know why but I am actually grinning in my mind.

"It's fine, it's fine... you both were having a lovely reunion after all", exclaimed Kaoru with a smirk.

"Haha, of couse", Akane said in a playful voice.

"Akane, what school are you in now?"

"Aomori School", replied Akane.

"I see, I'm transferring to Samezuka this year, actually I'm also going to live in this city as well.", I informed.

"Wow, that's great, hey wanna exchange emails? I mean I don't have a phone so..."

"Yeah no probs, you know you reminded me of a cliché scenario of a typical shoujo manga, but never mind," I said as I realized that she might not know about anime and stuff.

"Wait, don't tell me, you are also an otaku?! and you read shoujo manga?"

Author's note: I'm having so much fun writing it and I mean, two otakus who are childhood friends, meet again and woohoo... the party's getting started.
