Have you ever heard of the Darkest Void?

It's the place that's beyond the grave --

The place where living humans cannot go --

The dark, dreaded zone between the living world and the Dead World!

The Darkest Void is where even the ghosts live in terror.

How do I know?

Because I -- Holly, schoolgirl -- have been there!

My horrors all began the day I was sitting in the school library, polishing my glasses, when my friend Lilac slid into the chair beside me.

"Hey, Holly, what are you doing on Friday night?" he asked.

I slipped my glasses back on and gave her a blank look. "Friday night? I don't know. I mean, nothing. I never do anything on Friday nights."

"Good." Lilac gave me one of her wily grins. "That means you can come with me and the boys."

In case you don't know, "the boys" are famous at our school. There's James, and he's very handsome.

Lilac kind of thinks that he's his boyfriend.

And then there's Adam. I call him Ad. He's got golden blonde hair, and he's very handsome. That's why I think him as my boyfriend.

In our school, both boys are famous because they like ghost hunting. They're always out looking for new spooks. They don't know what the word "fear" means. In fact, they know more about the super naturual than anyone else does.

"Where are you going?" I asked, eager to learn more.

"You've got to keep it a secret," warned Lilac.

"QUIET, PLEASE!" came a voice from the front of the library. It was the teacher-in-charge, and she was glaring at us. "No talking in the library, or you'll be asked to leave."

"Sorry," Lilac said politely.

As soon as the teacher looked the other way, she leaned in closer to me -- so close that her glasses clacked against mine. She dropped her voice to the barest whisper.

"Holly, we're going to check for ghosts."

My eyes goggled at her. "On Friday night? Where?"

"It's a secret until Friday," she hissed. "But James and Adam know a place where we can definitely see ghosts!"

I gulped in a sharp breath. "Wow! Great!" Then I hesitated. "Are you sure we'll see ghosts?"

"Of course," he whispered back. "There's a full moon on Friday. And you know what that means. It's a night of haunting!"
