41: When two worlds start to merge

So quick disclaimer: In Sweden we don't have college dorm houses and our colleges look and function quite differently from how they do in the states and other parts of the world. So although I've gotten great help from my wonderful american friends DiabLolita, jellie_belles, Ackermans_love_420 and magpiequeen444 I still might have written some inaccuracies with my american inspired setting.

Levi's POV

Like most days when he got ready for work, Levi started off the early morning with a cup of preferably scalding hot tea that sharpened him up after yet another night of shitty sleep. What wasn't like most workdays however was that he didn't have his newspaper to glance through in search of anything of interest. This fact was of mild annoyance to him as he also didn't have anything else of interest around him. Furthermore he wasn't a breakfast person so usually he didn't eat anything until lunch, but for some reason he had felt slightly hungry this morning so he had made the effort of moving down to the hotel's dining hall for something light to eat... Might be his body that was getting used to have something to eat for breakfast from all the recent mornings he had spent with Eren.

Feeling annoyed from how slowly time moved and his lack of meaningful activity, he impatiently tapped his fingers against the dining hall table. Usually when he woke up way too early he would go to work even earlier than normal, ridiculously early in fact, but since he had made plans with a certain someone he couldn't do that today.

Levi was a COO who always was first to arrive at work and this seemed to make his employees uncomfortable sometimes. He had noticed some of them trying to arrive at work earlier and earlier in the effort in being there before him, only to be surprised by realizing that he had still arrived even earlier than them, so much that he eventually had to tell them off. Spending the ridiculously early mornings with no one but the career anxious youngsters who'd do anything to try to get on his good foot certainly wasn't his idea of a productive morning. Plus they overexerted themselves and were noticeably tired and less effective later during the day when their work performance mattered the most.

He contemplated going back up to his room to start work from there, because god knows when Eren would wake up and feel like going to school. He also contemplated going out for a smoke, because that didn't seem like half a bad idea, might calm him down. While still contemplating his options, his phone suddenly buzzed, making the table vibrate under him.

Eren:
Hey you awake yet?

Okay probably a stupid question, but to my defense you were sleeping soundly when I woke up yesterday!

You:
Count your blessings, kid.

How come you're awake?

Eren:
Early bird gets the worm!

You:
I don't think you've been the first bird to anything, ever, Eren.
