The night was young in the jazz-filled city of New Orleans as the Original hybrid looked out on his city. His most loyal brother and his sister by his side. These were the original siblings and they were the royal family of New Orleans. Or at least the side of New Orleans that nobody knew of. The humans of new Orleans knew them as just another family in the city, but the supernatural community knew them as a family not to be messed with.
Lately, their biggest concern was...nothing. They had what they wanted, the city under their control. Even Marcel was on their side and helped them keep everything under control. They had gotten what they wanted, their home to be a safe space for Hope. Every problem and enemy they had seemed to be solved or have disappeared altogether. Now, the powerful siblings waited together for the return of their youngest member.

Hope Andrea Mikaelson smiled softly as she exited the car that had brought her to the city where she was born. It was the first day of summer and the young Mikaleson was ready to spend the next few months with her family. Like the other Mikalesons, Hope was relaxed for once in her life. Her family was safe and they could finally spend some quality time together without worrying about death and bloodshed.
Before she made her way to her family home Hope made a quick stop at a bakery that sold the best beignets. After waiting in line for a few minutes Hope took her bag of treats, walked out of the cafe, and made her way down the street to her home. As she walked, she looked down at her phone and let her family know that she was on her way. Due to her misplaced attention, Hope unknowingly bumped into a girl.
"Oye, watch where you're walking wolfie." The girl snapped at her. The name the stranger called her caught the youngest Mikaelson by surprise causing her to look up. How did this girl know she was a part werewolf?
"I-Uh I'm sorry." Hope stuttered out picking the girl's bag off the floor.
Hope wasn't often one for stuttering. She was a Mikaelson. She wasn't supposed to be nervous, but something...something about this girl made her blood run cold.
"Yeah, I bet you are." The girl commented as she snatched her bag from the brunette's hands and shoved it past her.
It took Hope a moment to compose herself before she continued her journey home. The moment she entered the house she was greeted by her loving and chaotic family. They all talked for some time and everything was as it should be. Until Klaus got an unwanted call.
"What is it, Marcellus." The Hybrid asked with an annoyed tone.
"Klaus, are you and the rest of the Mikaelson clan feeding on the locals.? The old family friend asked as his old mentor walked down a dark alleyway.
"Well, seeing as we are vampires and blood is our main source of food. Yes, Marcel, we do feed on the locals from time to time and compel them to forget it ever happened. Why is that of any importance to you?" Klaus asked growing more agitated by the minute. He simply wanted to spend time with his daughter and anyone who interrupted that time was automatically on his bad side.
"Well, you better get down to the alley off the corner of 5th and main. I think we have a new problem on our hands." And with that Marcel hung up on the hybrid and left him extremely agitated.
After explaining the call to his family, Elijah decided to go see what was wrong so Klaus could stay with his daughter and Rebekah decided to tag along as well. When they arrived at the entrance of the alley Marcel was waiting for them.
"This better be good Marcel. I have a neice I could be shopping with right now." Rebekah commented as the trio walked down the alleyway. As they walked the scent of blood in the air became stronger, unbearable even.
"Does this fall into the category of good in your book?" He asked motioning to the gruesome scene in front of them.
There were at least five bodies sprawled across the pavement and each had a limb or two separated from it. It was a terrible scene that made even the Mikaleson's stomachs upset.
"Who did this?" Elijah asked bending down to examine the bodies further.
"I'm not sure, but it wasn't one of mine. Looks like we have a new vamp in town."
"No, Marcelus, this wasn't just a vampire. This killing has all the characteristics of a Ripper." Elijah observed standing up and looking at his sister and acquaintance.
"Great, so we have a vampire who kills with a bit of flair." Rebekah said a bit bored "So what? We'll just get rid of the bodies and find them before anyone starts thinking there's a serial killer on the loose. Problem solved." She explained with a shrug
"And how exactly do you expect us to find a single vampire out of an entire city of people, sister?" Elijah asked the blonde who had already started walking in the direction they came from.
"We have witches in our family for a reason brother." She responded before disappearing around the corner.
Elijah began assisting Marcel in the cleanup of the bodies with a shake of his head, but the entire time he couldn't help but wonder... Was this problem was deeper than any of them expected?
