IT WAS DANGEROUSLY QUIET AS JACKSON AND SKYLAR SEARCHED THE MOVIE STORE. Skylar had her hand wrapped around Jackson's wrist as they scanned the different isles to search for the move Lydia forced them to get. Jackson appeared to be oblivious to the uneasy look on his best friend's features as she cautiously scanned their surroundings. Something wasn't right and the twisting in her stomach proved it.
Her big brown eyes landed on a pair of shoes peeking out of one of the isles. The grip she had tightened on Jackson while she kept her stare glued to the shoes. "Jackson," She muttered quietly, tugging him to follow her. She jumped back into him when they saw the dead man with his throated slashes.
Tears welled in Skylar's eyes as she stared at the dead bloodied man in horror, knowing this wasn't just a murder but an attack from the Alpha. The animal who's mission is to get to Scott. Jackson pulled her back, placing his hands on her shoulders and looking her in the eye, "We need to get out of here, the killer might still be here."
Suddenly the lights began flickering on and off furiously before slowly dying down completely. Darkness greeted the two teens causing Skylar to breathe in and out heavily while looking around once more. Her heart raced viciously and her stomach dropped as she caught sight of glowing red eyes in the darkened shadows. The same red eyes she saw in the woods when her and Scott were attacked. The same eyes as the Alpha.
Jackson was quick to pull Skylar behind him in a protective manner as they backed up slowly, "Stay behind me." He whispered, lacing his fingers with hers for security. She squeezed his hand, hoping to find some sort of comfort and security but she didn't. She still felt out of place.
They both jumped when the Alpha let out a loud sounding growl. The two ran behind an isle and crouched down to the ground. Skylar glared at him when finding him poking his head out. She reached out to grab him by the jacket to yank him back. "The hell are you doing? Are you crazy?!" She whispered harshly.
He looked down at her with a worried expression, "I'm trying to see where the thing went so I can get us out of here." He told her before poking his head back out making her roll her eyes with a huff. As much as she loved him, she knew he wasn't exactly the smartest in certain situations.
She was getting even more anxious. But she didn't have time to dwell on how anxious she currently was because the sound of crashes shelves caught their attention. The clashing sound grew closer and it was then Jackson realized they were about to be crushed by them. So he quickly grabbed Skylar, shoving her in front of him and pushing her out of the isle. Though he acted quick but it was too late.
