Platypus bear

I wake up, y/n still snuggled into my chest. I smile and pull her in closer. I watch her peacefully sleep for a few minutes, and then kiss her forehead gently and get up to find firewood.

I lay there blushing, keeping my eyes closed so Zuko won't know I'm awake. As soon as I know he's gone, I sit up and put my face in my hands. I can't believe he slept next to me all night. And then he kissed my forehead- and he didn't know I was awake. I got up and started shaking out the sleeping bags and picking some flowers for tea.

Zuko comes back shortly with a pile of firewood and lights it with his fire bending. I start the pot of tea. I start to add the flowers as I hear a rustling coming from a bush. Zuko puts his finger to his lips, motioning for me to be quiet and follow him. We back up and find a cave. We hide behind a rock, side by side. We hear a loud thumping, that only gets louder, obviously getting closer. We peek out and see a platypus bear coming for us.

"I'm gonna scare it off, you need to stay here" he whispers into my ear. I grab his face and kiss his cheek. He blushes.

"Be careful" I say, trying to hide my fear. He hugs me and goes to confront it.

Zuko tries to fire bend to scare off the animal. It doesn't seem to be scared though. The platypus bear makes a b line for behind the rock and I scream. Without thinking I kick it in the bill, jumping into its back and flipping it. It made a loud noise and ran out of the cave. Both Zuko and I stand in shock at my actions. After a few minutes of disbelief, I realize we're both still standing. I run into his arms and he pulls me into a hug. After a couple minutes I pull back, leaving my arms around his neck and his arms around my waist. We hold eye contact and I lean in, closing my eyes. His lips meet mine slowly and gently, but slowly getting more passionate as he adjusted me. He pushes his tongue against my mouth, requesting access. I open my mouth, letting him in. Pushes me against the cave wall, lifting my legs around his waist. Our tongues dance in harmony as he moves his hands down my body.

"EHEM" we hear and he quickly sets me down as we both look and see a group of teenagers at the entrance of the cave. I turn bright red and try to fix myself. "We came to save you and all, but looks like you're a bit busy at the moment" says a grinning scrawny boy in all blue.

Zuko smiled and ran to them all, hugging them each. I stood there, still embarrassed from them walking in on us.

"Y/n, this is Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph. Guys, this is y/n, I found them stranded and they're tagging along with us now." He said as he grabbed my hand in his and I waved.

We walked back to where we had set up and packed our sleeping bags. Zuko lead me over to what appeared to be a flying bison?? He told me to trust him as I climbed up and he held onto my waist. "YIP YIP" Aang screamed. Soon we were soaring above the ground and I was scared. I gasped and covered my face.

"Hey, it's alright, you're safe I promise" Zuko said. He pulled me closer to him until I was essentially in his lap. He held onto me tightly. "Okay, open your eyes, I got you, I promise"

I slowly opened my eyes looked at the beautiful view. I smiled rested my head against his chest, watching the trees pass underneath us.

"So where are you from?" Aang says, with a friendly smile

I look down "I don't, I don't remember"

"Oh. I'm sorry, hopefully we can help you remember" he says

"That'd be great" I say, trying my best to shake the sadness out of my voice. Zuko kisses my cheek and I lay my head on his shoulder.

"So, wanna tell us what led to you getting there and us finding you with your tongue down her throat? " Sokka says. Katara elbows him in the side.

I turn bright red and Zuko glares at him. "I found y/n floating in the ocean. I didn't know what to do, so I pulled her out and made camp. Then we walked a while and found the place we were last. We were in the cave because a platypus bear chased us into it. But then we scared it off... and then... yeah, you guys found us." He said, scratching the back of his neck trying not to make eye contact.

"Huh." Sokka says, looking us skeptically.

"Guys! I found a village! I'm gonna have Appa land so we can all rest" Aang said. And then we were going down.
